Tris

I hear muffled voices and names once in a while. " Tris, Christina, Tobias, Uriah. " I breathe slowly and softly and try to concentrate.

" Tobias, Im sorry Tris is.... shes gone... " I hear Cara breaking the "bad" news to him. What? I'm not dead I'm still here I can hear you. "No, your lying. Tris is not dead. She wouldn't leave me. " " She went into the weapons lab instead of Caleb. She managed to resist the death serum but she was shot. By David. " The moment Cara said that there was a sharp pain near my shoulder and my neck. I never noticed it perhaps because I forhot about it. But still I'm not dead! " We checked her pulse. " I was so overwhelmed with shock I only managed a soft sound.

I see a tall silhouette. Tobias. He wraps his hand around me. I can feel his warm hands on mine. "Come back to me Tris. Come back to me." I can't open my eyes because I was overwhelmed with fatigue. And for a moment in the soft and quiet I hear him sniffle. He's crying.  I've never seen Tobias cry before.  I feel like reaching out to him, comforting him. I have to tell him I'm alive. I can't allow him to suffer. Mustering all my strength I mutter something so soft, no kne could possible have heard. "Tobias. " He hears.  With sudden animation. " Tris!" He touches my face and my eyes open slightly.  His touch was like energy to me. It gave me the strength to open my eyes. " Oh my God Tris !" I try to smile but I don't.  Tears well up in my eyes. I can feel the warm tear trickling down my cheek. I feel like I have been given another chance to live my life. All that was in my mind was that I was not going to spend another time wasted fighting with Tobias or endangering my life.  I only realised it when it was almost taken away from me. "Tobias. I love you." " I love you too Tris. " With that he  cups my face and kisses my face. I can feel his damp cheek against mine and when he kisses my cheek his lips are shaking.

I fell asleep again. Between waking up and sleeping, Tobias seemed to be by my side all the time. I loved him for that. He told  the others that I was fine and I needed some time to rest before I could them. Right now, all I want is Tobias and nothing more. Him being with me gave me a sense of fufilment and safety. Then I remembered when I jumped into the pitch black hole, falling into the net and his muscular arms guding me down. Then he was only my instructor. But now all I see in him is the love. The strength  and yet the vulnerable side of him.

Christina, Caleb and Cara come rushing in. I see tears streaked down Christina's face and Caleb shocked and surprised. Cara flashed me a small smile. I could see it in her eyes that she does not hate me. After even killing her brother, she does not hate me. I know that dislike for me still lingers within her but I'm glad she's not angry. I'm glad I'm alive. I'm glad. " Tris ! " Christina exclaims. " Were you going to leave me? All by myself? Alone ?! " I giggled a little but then there was a jolt of pain in my stomach turning my smile into a grimace. " Ouch."

" I'm sorry."

Tobias supports me. " Yeah I'm okay." The pain seemed to be subsiding but I knew that was because Tobias just gave me some painkillers.

" Since your awake, we're going to eat some dauntless cake. Until your better, I'll get you some." Cara says.

" Hey Cara, thank you. for everything." I knew Cara was not the type to express her feelings but her little effort meant a lot to me.

" Yeah whatever." After that she just turned and left, Christina chasing after her. Just then I noticed Caleb. Suddenly a rush of memories hit me. I fet nauseous and dissy. " Tobias could you give Caleb and I a moment. I promise it won't be long." I breathed out the words slowly. Tobias looked hesitant but after a while he got up and went out. Silence resigned on the both of us. We did not know what to say for sure. He was the one who started talking first.

" You feeling okay ?"

" Yeah. Are you okay ?"

For a moment he was silent. " I saw mom. "
