I wake up due to the rumbling of my stomach. God I was hungry! My vision is blurry due to the blinding light from the ceiling and window. Window... My room didn't have a window that would allow the sunshine hit my face.
I realise I'm in a hospital immediately my eyes adjust to the light. My skin feels irritated by the sun rays and my throat was burning and surprisingly not for a vodka. I yearned for a drink, a warm drink.
The door slightly opens and a man in a nurse uniform walks in. His footsteps sound a whole lot louder than an average man's.
He places a tray with a cup on the table. The liquid smells metallic. And how the hell I know that I don't understand.
"Drink up... "he gently lifts my head.
"Well that definitely doesn't smell like something I'd like to drink... "I chuckled, his face is stone. Well he gets a zero in sense of humor. "What is that exactly? "I clear my throat trying to look in the cup.
"Just drink it. "he says. I look up to meet a face suddenly stained with veins so precise I could almost count. "It will stop the burning feeling. "
"It will?! " Wait, how would he even know that.
He pulls the straw to touch my lips before I could protest. I suck lightly only allowing little content in my mouth.
It's warm, it's red, it's blood....
I try to spit it out but my entire system thinks otherwise so I take in some more and next thing I know, the cup is empty. I still want more.
"What happened to me? What did you do to me?!" I scream and look up to see tears in his eyes.
"What had to be done... "
