(Just saying, this is kinda long.)

G stood in shock, watching as the love of his life stood, real and breathing, shaking from head to toe as the flames on her hands licked and crawled up her arms.

"Help." She breathed out, before her eyes fluttered and sinked shut as her legs gave out and she tumbled onto the ground, the flames dying.

G held out his arms as she weighed into him, her eyes closed as she breathed heavily, his hand shaking, he moved hair out of his lover's face and saw the bruises and scars, and saw the burn marks on her arms and legs as his breathing got faster.

"Sans!" He called out, and heard footsteps before and audible gasp as Sans knelt down beside him, looking Opal up and down, "What happened?" He asked, and edge in his tone as he looked up at G. G sighed, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

G leaned forward, running his hand down her face, and Sans saw that he was on the verge of tears, this was the most emotion he had ever seen G show, and he couldn't quite believe the whole situation.

Sans felt a hand on his shoulder and jumped, and he turned to see Cyndle standing with tears leaking from her eyes, as she fell to her knees and saw her dear friend crumbling before her, and she turned to G with burning hatred in her eyes, "Who did this? Was it Caben? That freeloading son of a b-"

"I don't know what happened." G interrupted, before he wrapped his arms around Opal, her skin warm as he lifted her off the ground, and he noticed she felt significantly lighter, What had happened? He thought to himself, the burning question marinated in his mind.

"Oh my!" G immediately heard multiple shouts from guests as they saw Opal and the state she was in. Toriel ran forward and placed her paw upon Opal's forehead, "Did Caben do this?" She whispered, "He was the last one she was with."

G let the sentence sink in before he was shaking with burning hatred and a fierce ambition to bring this Caben to his knees and watch him beg for mercy for hurting the only light in his life, "I don't know who did this," He growled out, his eyes gleaming with an intense yellow, "But whoever did, they will never see the light of day."

"E-excuse me," G heard, a small tiny whisper, and he turned to the right of him to see the yellow dinosaur he recognized as Alphys, Royal Scientist, or was, I guess.

"U-uh, I could help her." She struggled out, and G immediately lowered Opal to the ground, letting her body spread gently on the ground, her hair spilling out in waves under her head as Alphys examined her wounds, "Alphys," G said, his eyes boring into hers, "What do you know about humans gaining magical powers?"

Alphys gave him a strange look as she pulled out a small medical kit and began bandaging Opal's wounds and G watched her face as he saw her eyes move from underneath her eyelids, "Its possible," Alphys started, "But very rare, and only possible if they were born with the gene, which means somewhere in their family tree someone had to have bred with a monster." Alphys looked up at him, "Why?"

G stuttered, "Well," He said, "Opal might have....," He paused, "Fire powers."

Alphys immediately yelped, dropping her equipment and looking G in the eyes, "Really!?" She cried, "What do you mean?"

G stared down at Opal and sighed, "When she opened the door, her hands were on fire, and she wasn't in pain, it seemed like..," G turned his gaze to Alphys, "They were coming from her."

The dinosaur was silent for a few moments, before looking back down at Opal, "Extrordinary." She whispered, and she pressed an alcohol swab to Opal's wound before she bandaged the last burn.

She looked up at G, her voice lowered to a whisper, "Call me when she's awake, run her down to the lab for some....," Alphys paused, "Tests." She regained her composure and returned to a normal voice, "Make sure to keep her hydrated while she's asleep, it might be a few days until she wakes up by the state of her wounds, change her bandages daily and when she wakes up she might be too weak to start daily tasks." She said, and he nodded quickly, "Thank you, Alphys." G said, "Honestly." He said, as Alphys nodded.

Immediately, Sans and Cyndle ran up as Alphys was done, they both bombarded him with questions and he pressed his bones to his temples, getting a headache, "Alright, Alright!" He yelled, and the two quieted down, "She'll be alright, she just needs to sleep for a few days-"

"G." Someone said, and G turned to see Toriel standing over him, "You might want to see this." G's expression was confused as he followed Toriel into the living room, where the tv was blaring the daily news, and G sat down on the couch as he focused on what was playing.

"Tonight, a very tragic end for a former criminal, Caben Woods, killing two parents in a house fire while the child survived, his house was burnt down with him still inside, the only thing surviving a single file consisting of his crime and his sentence, was this the work of something more sinister? Or simply a house fire-" The news caster said, and as Toriel turned the tv off, he sat in silence, the puzzle pieces connecting in his brain.

"G?" Toriel asked, sitting down next to him and setting a paw on his shoulder, "Are you alright?"

G nodded, in a daze as he stood from the couch slowly, making his way into the living room, his limbs moving in a dragged fashion as he looked at Opal, seeming peaceful as she laid on the ground, unconscious.

He sighed, "Oh, doll." He said, caressing her face, "What has the world done to you." He said, a tear slipping down as he wrapped his arms around her once again as Sans yelled that the party was over, he tried to drown it out as he stared down at his beautiful lover, taking in her sleeping face as he walked down the hallway and climbed the stairs to their shared room, Well, used to be shared.

He walked in, flipping off the light with his elbow and carrying Opal the the bed, setting her down gently. He took a deep breath in as he pulled the covers up to her shoulders, pulling up a chair to edge of the bed and taking her hand in his and gripping tightly as tears streamed down.

"Why you?" He whispered, his voice cracking, "You don't deserve this."

He took in a shaky breath and regained himself, holding Opal's hand as he watched her.

"Please, darling." He said, "Wake up soon." He paused, the tears starting again, "I love you."
