Taemin lead me to his car and opened the door for me to get in.
"So, what do you think of the Dance class so far?" He asked, starting the car.
"I really like it. I know Kai, Yixing Yugyeom and Grace already so I don't feel awkward." I answered.
"I'm glad. I didn't want you to feel that way. Thank you for helping us find those songs today." He said as we stopped at a stop light.
"No problem. I'm glad I could help." I said, smiling. The rest of the drive was quiet, we just enjoyed each others company. We pulled into a parking lot of a small, local coffee shop and he parked. It looked really cute, I was so excited to see the inside.
"They have different kinds of sandwiches, pastry things and they have boba." He said as we neared the front door. He held the door open for me and I thanked him. We stared at the large menu hanging behind the counter, deciding on what we wanted. We ordered and he stubbornly, wouldn't let me for mine. We found a table and sat down, waiting for our order.
"What is your favorite thing about Korea so far?" He asked, starting the conversation.
"I really like the weather, it feels nice here. I really like the food too." I answered.
"If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose this University? I know there were many closer to you, and probably cheaper too." He asked
"Well, I've always wanted to visit Korea and my friends did too. We worked quite a few summer jobs each year to raise enough money. We found classes for all of our majors and we all got accepted." I lied, well, partially.
"Why did you pick this University?""I've always loved dancing and I had heard many wonderful things about the dance program. It is very small and most people go the bigger Universities to major in in dance. But I love how small the class is. And I'm glad you could join as an extracurricular class." He smiled, resting his elbows on the table and his head in his hands. His black, fluffy hair hung just above his eyes.
"I'm glad I could join too. I can't wait for the competition next month." I commented. The waitress came by and gave us our order. I got an iced, hazelnut coffee and a slice of pumpkin bread. He got a iced mocha coffee with a tomato and mozzarella panini. We thanked the waitress and continued the conversation.
"What are some of your hobbies?" He asked, sipping his drink.
"Well, I love writing, music, and volleyball. But I'm going to school for forensics. Originally I wanted to work in a psych ward, but I ended up changing my mind at the last second." I answered.
"And you?""I really love dance and music. I was going to go for music but decided on dance. My brother inspired me to go for dance." He answered. "So do you think you'll stay in Korea after college, or will you go back to the States?"
"I haven't really thought about that yet. I guess I'll go where I can find work, I'll just have to start looking after I'm done with school. If I do move back to America, I will definitely come back to visit." I answered. He nodded his head and continued eating his food. We stayed there for an hour, getting to know each other. He is really sweet, I'm so happy I agreed to this. I think I really like him.
