After watching Te-Ex casually ride his horse back through the crowd and vanish around the corner of the alleyway, finding Arcana, returning to the market near station to get items for Hsakia, and waiting outside a weird shop Phoxen wanted to go into, with the small creature following Tyler all the way around, they were ready to go home. Tyler was being informed by Tomasn on all the known facts about the strange creatures known as Saporas as they walked back to the house. Both Wester and Tyler intently listened to Tomasn's seamlessly endless facts and descriptions of this single creature. Nadess seemed to be enthusiastically staring at the creature, watching it, following it, not that the creature minded.
"So, whatcha gonna call it Ty?" Tomasn asked.
The voices told her a name.
"Toby, I guess. It suits it, right?"
"Toby..." Nadess continued to assess the creature, "Yeah, I guess it fits. Unless, ya know, it's a girl."
"O-ok then...hmm...uh..."
"Does gender really matter though? If Tyler wants to call it Toby, then its name is Toby, no matter the gender." Tomasn passive-agressivly argued.
"Yeah, screw gender roles. Its name is Toby. Wait— Saki, is it ok for us to keep it?"
"Hsakia says ok. He doesn't mind as long as you're able to train it so it doesn't reck the house."
"Yes! Thanks Saki!" Tyler replied without paying attention to the whole statement and only focusing on the word 'ok'.
She looked back at Toby, who was happily strolling along behind them, and smiled. Tyler had never had a pet before, or at least in the past day or so that she could remember. She had no idea how to look after one, but neither did anyone else when it comes to this species.
"So yeah, as I was saying before," Tomasn continued, "nobody knows the diet of them, but I assume they eat a variety of things since they can, ya know, literally end up at one end of the universe to the other and everywhere in between, so they have to adapt to what's available. We'll have to do a few tests once we get home, and try not to kill it by feeding it something that could be poisonous to it. Like how chocolate is poisonous to dogs."
"Hey, I didn't think you even have dogs here? I thought it was just weird animals and humanoids roaming the town. Like, unusual, spliced up, crazy, drunk science...things." Tyler questioned, "No offence bt-dubs."
"None taken," Nadess coolly responded for the group.
"Well, what even is usual and unusual now." Wester interjected, "It's just general knowledge, I guess. I haven't ever seen a dog in my life, but I kinda have the idea what they look like. We all just have those random facts and general information pre-installed in our minds when we get here."
"Ey, Ty, can I touch your long spiky friend?" Nadess seemed to be really intrigued by every feature of Toby, and had a bedazzled expression. She looked mesmerised even, Tyler perceived.
"Sure. Touch him at your own risk though, we still don't know if he's passive or no—"
Nadess had already crouched down, attracting the attention of Toby, and placed her hand on the lower back of him, slowly stroking him following the direction of his back spikes.
"He seems passive enough."
The creature looked in distress, and had stopped moving entirely.
"He looks like he wants to rip your face of, Nade" Phoxen rudely stated.
"I bet he wants to rip your fucking face off!" Nadess argued, instinctively picking Toby up from the tail and throwing him at Phoxen's face, and instantly regretting her decision.
