Kelly's POV
"Holy shit. Really?" He asks. I nod. "Oh my god. I'm gonna be a Dad" he smiles. I smile back. He runs over and hugs me.
We stand there for a while, just hugging. I hear low chuckling and Calum's body tenses up. I look and see Luke standing there, pointing a gun at us. "You have that mixed up, Calum. I believe I'm going to be a Dad" he says. "No way in hell am I letting you near that child" I say through gritted teeth.
"Sorry, but without my help, you wouldn't be pregnant" he growls. The gun clicks. "Hmmmmm. Who should I shoot? The baby and its mom, or the crazy stepbrother?" He says. I swallow my words. "I think I'll go with the crazy stepbrother" he says, leveling the gun squarely at Calum. Before I have time to protest, a loud Bang and my screams are heard. I collapse to the floor next to Calum.
"No, baby, please. Come on" I shake his arm, sobbing. The bullet hit his thigh, causing a crimson color to seep through his black skinny jeans. "It's going to be okay, Kelly" Calum says. I look up to find Luke is already gone. Good.
I call the police and they send an Ambulance. They put a search warrant out for Luke. I sit down next to Calum on the floor, still crying. "Baby, stop crying" Calum reaches up and gently uses his thumb to wipe away a stray tear. "He won't get away with this" I sniffle. Calum nods.
Medics rush in and put Calum on a stretcher. I jump into the ambulance after them and sit next to Calum. "What are your names? First and last" A policeman in the van with us asks me. I respond for both of us. "I'm Kelly Carrillo and this is Calum Hood" I say. He nods. "And your relationship to each other?" He jots down notes as we make our way to the hospital.
"Uh..." I look at Calum. Cal looks at the police officer as he squeezes my hand. "Dating, but she's my step sister" he responds. The officer nods again. "Do you know the name of the boy who did this to you? A description of him? Age?" He continues taking notes. "Yeah uh he actually goes to our school. He's my ex" I chuckle. "Ah, that why..." he gestures to Calum. I nod. "Luke Hemmings. 17. And I have a picture of him still, I believe" I look through my phones camera, showing the man a picture. He takes a camera from his neck and takes my phone, snapping a picture of Luke.
He gives me the phone back and thanks me. I nod. I look back at Calum to find him smiling at me. "Does anything hurt?" I ask. He shakes his head. "Surprisingly, no" he says. I nod.
When we get to the hospital they take Calum off someplace where I'm not allowed to be, so I sit down in the waiting area. About 20 minutes after, a man in a black hoodie with black sweatpants on comes over and sits down a seat away from me. My head is in my hands so I don't pay much attention to him.
I'm thinking about how I got myself into this mess. How I ended up here.
Eventually a doctor walks up to me and I stand up. "Calum is going to be okay. Police are looking for the man you said did that to him. His room number is 223 if you would like to see him" he explains. I thank him before running off towards the nearest elevator. I'm so lost in my thoughts that I don't hear the footsteps chasing after me.
I get into the elevator and when I'm getting ready to push the button, the hooded guy steps in. I shoot him a small smile before pressing the floor Calum's room is on. "What floor?" I ask the man. "2" says a husky voice. Same floor I'm going to. The doors close.
Suddenly, the man reaches over and presses the Emergency button that stops the elevator. Before I can react he takes a spray paint can and covers the camera so that security can't see. "What the-" I'm getting ready to say. The man pushes me against the wall and presses a hand against my mouth. I whimper and a chuckle escapes his lips.
My eyes widen. I know that laugh. Luke removes his hood. He grins. "Miss me?" Asks his deep voice. He removes his hand from my mouth. "Please don't hurt me" I say. "Don't worry, princess. I just wanna talk" he steps away from me and leans against the opposite wall of me.
"So, the baby" he sighs. I nod and look down. "I want it dead" he finally concludes. I look up a him in shock. "W-What?" I choke out. "I want you to have an abortion" he shrugs. "Why?" I ask. "Because I don't want a mini me running around" he glares. True point. Definitely wouldn't want my kid doing what Luke did. "If you don't do it, I will" he growls. He presses the button again, starting the elevator back up. We stand there in silence.
The doors open and Luke gets ready to walk out, placing the hood back over his face. "Luke" I stop him. He looks at me, raising an eyebrow. "What was your first thought when you...killed someone?" I cringed as the words left my mouth. He stared at me for a moment before responding.
"The specks of blood looked a lot like paint" he sighs. Before anything else can be said, he rushes off, leaving me confused about his statement.
