Chapter ten- Date
°*°*°*°
Cas put the popcorn on his lap, watching the movie trailers with an over-excited look at the one that was on.
"Ive read this book. Spielberg is directing, so it will probably be really good, but the main character doesnt look accurate."
"What's this for?"
"Ready Player One. Amazing work by Ernest Cline. You'd like it. The author has a DeLorean."
"The car? From Back to the future?!"
"Yup. He makes all sorts of references. I don't understand most, but the story was great. A few I looked up and watched."
"Okay. Do you like horror?"
"No. Expect me to cling to you the whole time."
"Well, in that case, I'll be taking you to all of the horror movie that come to this theater."
Cas blushed and took another nibble of popcorn.
"What's this about?"
"Monster hunters. It got great reviews. Based off the 'Supernatural' books by Carver Edlund. This family- the Smiths- all hunt monsters together. The books are really depressing. The parents are dead so it's up to Dawn and her younger sister Sara to take up the family busniess, and there's an angel in the later books named Charmein. It gets complex. A lot of the fandom, including Charlie and I, ship Charmein and Dawn, or Darmein."
"Wow."
"I've read them all. Don't tell Sam through. I'd never live it down."
"My lips are sealed. They sound good though."
"I can lend them all to you later."
"Good. Now shh."
The lights dimmed, and Dean slyly slipped his arm around Cas. Words faded onto the black screen.
Based on the books by Carver Edlund.
There were a few cheers from the theater, including Dean. If he was being honest, He'd been wanting to see this movie for a while and only suggested a horror movie because this was somewhere along thise lines. And says Horror Movie made him feel a little more confident about watching it becuase he loved the books so much. Cas could tell. The next words that came up on the screen were orange and on fire.
Supernatural
The opening shot was of a white house.
"Lawrence, Kansas, twelve years earlier." Dean whispered, just as the words started appearing. Cas chuckled. "Thats the mom, Jude. The dad is Martin. Yeah, the the blonde one. See, the little one with the long hair is Sara. She's eight. Dawn is twelve."
"Dean. Shh."
"Yeah. Sorry."
Cas laughed a little again. Then gasped as a monster appeared in the room and killed both of the parents. Sara on the screen sarted shrieking, as Dawn tried to protected her little sister.
--
The movie ended with a twenty six year old Dawn being dragged to hell, the somehow resurrected by an unknown force.
"What?!" Cas whispered. "How- how can it end like that?"
"That was the whole first book! Man, that was phenominal! Cas, they followed everything! The script feels like it was taken right from the books! They got everything perfect! The way Carver scratched out the scenes in the books. He drew them in the margins and I own a copy of the whole first book with the drawings, original finished copy, signed by Carver. They were spot on. We need more movies like that. And you need to read them."
"You have a first and only edition of the book signed by the author?"
"Yes. It cost so much. Worth it though."
Cas scoffed at his-
Boyfriend?
Sure.
Cas scoffed at his Boyfriend.

Dean felt sort of bad for leaving Cas downstairs, but he had to have some alone time with Sammy. They were sitting upstairs again. Sam hadn't talked at all since their dad had died, and Dean was starting to get worried.
"Sammy, please. I know it's hard."
Sam shook his head again.
"Okay.. I know some sign langage from what you taught me. For that girl at school, right? The one you just went to see? Wanna try that?"
Sam nodded and signed "for now" to his big brother.
"Okay. I still don't get much though. How was hanging out with Eileen?"
Sam nodded, but dean noticed the blush.
"Ooohh I get it."
"No. Not what's happening."
"Sure. Or if you're telling the truth, you want it."
Sam blushed again. "How was your date?" He actually signed "outing," but Dean knew what he meant.
"Awesome. We went to see Supernatural."
"Good. Can we watch some.."
"Some what? Doctor who?"
Sam shook his head no.
"Sherlock."
No again.
"That weird geeky show you like."
Sam vigorously signed out "It isn't geeky"
"Sure. Doctor Sexy?"
Sam rolled his eyes, then nodded.
"I raised you right."
--
After four episodes of Doctor Sexy, Dean noticed he had a sleeping Cas on one arm and a sleeping Sam on the other. The arm that Cas was holding and leaning onto was going numb. His hair was messed up, sticking out at odds and ends, and Dean didn't have the heart to push him off. Sam, on the other hand (litterally) was less of a cute sleeper. His hair was all in his face and mouth. Plus, he was snoring. Dean slipped into sleep soon enough.
