"Well I think this is presentable for my first day." I told myself as I twirled in front of the mirror.

I had gone out with Wren yesterday and she helped me pick out a nice pair of black jeans and a blue blazer to go with the white button up shirt I borrowed from Olivia and her tan heels.

I grabbed my laptop bag off my bed and headed down to the kitchen. I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and a cinnamon roll off the stove, that's the only plus to having Julia around is that she is a good cook.

"Looks like Heavy Harper is ready to go." Luke laughed as he entered the kitchen shirtless.

The thing about my step-brothers, mostly Greg and Luke, is that they are good looking guys with a couple of horrible personalities.

"Whatever Luke." I rolled my eyes finishing up my cinnamon roll.

I threw my plate in the sink and grabbed my car keys.

"Have fun Heavy Harper!" Luke shouted as I left.

At this point their words bother me, but not as much as they used to.

(At Cryptic High School)

"Wow this place brings back memories." I said as I stepped out of my car.

I walked up to the front of the building and looked inside the trophy case. My picture holding the plaque I was given when I broke the state's record for distance and pole vault. I loved this picture because my mom is in it and her smile was just so full of happiness and pride because her daughter followed her footsteps of being a track star, she is the one who encouraged me to join the team and she coached me to the best she could. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have gotten the scholarship to Cryptic State College.

I took my attention away from the trophy case and focused on the task at hand, get through my first day without any drama. As I entered the building I got lots of stares from the students and staff probably because I looked young to be a teacher. I walked into the office and was greeted by Mrs. Flynn.

"Well I'll be a pluck duck, Harper Lincoln is back!" She gave me a warm smile.

"Yep! Except this time I'm not just a student!" I laughed.

"That's right you're a student teacher. I knew you were going to be successful, I mean you graduated early and got a full scholarship into college, it is just amazing. Anyways, here is a map of the school in case you need it, but you'll be assisting in Mr. Riker's class, he is in Ms. Dobris' old room D4. There is a desk set up for you, I even had them make you one of those fancy desk tags and everything!"

"Thank you so much Mrs. Flynn, it is greatly appreciated!" I gave her hug and made my way to D4.

As I entered the room, I saw the desk Mrs. Flynn was talking about, I sat down, took out my stuff and got it organized. The final bell rang and the students talking fell silent, but apparently my phone didn't get the message of being silent and it buzzed from my bag. I leaned down and grabbed it out of my bag. It was a text from Olivia, Have a great first day! I smiled and proceeded to shut my phone down.

"Hello class my name is Mr. Riker and I'm your new English Writing teacher!" He said enthusiastically.

His voice sounded oddly familiar, "And this is your student teacher Ms. Lincoln." I popped my head up from under the desk and smiled at the class.

"Oh great." Mr. Riker said under his breath. I turned my head towards where I thought Mr. Riker was standing, but instead I met eyes with the guy I knew as Jaxton. We just kinda stared at each other for what seemed like forever until a student's cough caught his attention.
