(Sheri's POV)
So Carlos told me he has a plan of action for Leo, in case there isn't a sharn around, which is like Carlos. He's good on his feet. But it still makes me uncomfortable that Leo doesn't know what's going on, I rarely ever hide things from Leo, and I have a reason for it as well. I owe Leo a lot, and I really wish my role as the General could be different, but I guess that's the responsibility that comes with being a keeper.
Leo has been telling me about his weird dreams, and those dreams sound very familiar. The place he described sounds a lot like Loco Lucis.
"Sheri? Hello?" Carlos shook me. I looked towards him and nodded.
"Sorry about that, I was just thinking." I apologized. He smirked.
"Thinking about me?" He whispered, laughing. I shoved me away and rolled my eyes, smiling.
"Oh come one, you know I was joking! Don't be like that." He laughed. I rolled my eyes and looked back at him.
"Is everything a joke to you?"
"I mean, if I can joke about it, the yeah."
I turned around to Leo. He was doing his Spanish homework, but he was packing everything. "Hey Leo, are you ok?" I asked again. He was really out of it.
"Yeah, I just have a really bad gut feeling."
"Is the gut feeling about Hazel?" Carlos joked again.
"Oh she's not that bad, she's just outgoing," Leo said, "I don't mind it all that much, although she can be a bit too outgoing sometimes."
"Yeah, outgoing only to you, bro." Carlos pointed out. Leo muttered something under his breath and looked away.
"Cmon, it's nothing big, she's just into you," I noted.
"Yeah but I feel like it's lying, you know? I feel like I'd be playing with her feelings by not telling her I don't like her, but I guess I don't have the guts to tell her."
When we got off the bus, we said our goodbyes and left for class. I noticed a couple people looking at me, and then I realised that my scar was showing. What an ugly thing, I should roll my sleeve down.
I had first period Biology, so I went down the wing to my class when I felt something unusual. It made me shiver, and I didn't like it, so I looked around. It then hit me, my shivers were so bad, that there must be a sharn close by. Since it was early before class, I ran to Carlos's class (he had Japanese).
I burst in, out of breath, running to his desk, where he was peacefully doing his homework. He looked up completely unfazed.
"Hey Sheri, what's up? Why are you out of breath?" He asked. I pointed outside and looked him directly in the eye.
"So I felt a...Sharn...present...on campus." I explained, catching my breath.
"On-campus? Well that's a first. Are you sure?" He countered.
"No I don't believe so, and even if it were, we can't risk it. Today is the day."
"Wait. The day?"
"Yes. The day."
"Cool," he finished. We got up and started walking to the door.
"But just to be clear, what's so special about today?" Carlos asked, watching to see how I'd react. I stopped and turned towards him.
"The day we should give Leo the news about being a guardian. Did no one from the Imperium or anyone tell you?"
"Leo's a guardian!" He yelled. I shushed him. The halls may be crowded but Leo is in the same wing as Carlos (Humanities, English Language wing, or as everyone calls it, HEL).
When we got to the science wing, we ran to the scene and found a large sharn roaming around. It doesn't seem to be looking for trouble yet, but sharns usually strike when there is a tragedy about to happen. Well, we'll see when we get there.
I just hope Leo is ok, after all, he might have to be alone for this.
