(Leo's POV)

Mornings are easy enough, since humanities and english are not hard subjects generally. The class is great to have 1st and 2nd period, everyone in the class is too sleepy to answer questions and the teacher doesn't really mind.

Well, there is a small downside to the class...

Hazel Lokrest.

I've known Hazel since middle school (both our elementary schools are feeder schools of that middle school) but honestly, I think she liked me the moment she saw me, since I don't remember a time where she didn't like me.

And the fact that she likes me is not really what bothers me, her feelings are only natural, after all.

It's the fact that she thinks I'm her boyfriend already. She hugs me, has tried to kiss me at least twice, and still hasn't given up. Honestly, it's borderline assault, but we're still friends because I don't think she's a bad girl and all she needs is some restraint.

"Hey, Leo!" She sprouted enthusiastically. She tried to grab my arm but I nudged it away.

"Good morning." I replied quickly as we walked into the class.

"How are you? How's life?" She tried catching up to me, but I got to my seat first. But I guess I was wrong, that wasn't my seat since our seats changed. I went to the front of the room to see the seating chart only to find out that Hazel didn't sit next to me.

She sat across from me. Go figures.

I sighed and went to my new seat. The guy I sat next to was the smart kid of our class. Hazel sat next to a really quiet girl (the complete opposite of Hazel, as Hazel is a chatterbox). Hazel continued to try to talk to me.

Until something caught my ear.

"Did you hear that Sheri has been missing a lot of cheer practices? She hasn't told me why." Hazel pauses to think for a moment. I kept trying to ignore her, but the topic of Sheri is pretty interesting to me, being her best friend of 10 years and all and not knowing why she would miss practices.

"Maybe...she has a boyfriend? I mean she is really pretty and kind and she has been dressing nicer on Fridays so maybe she's been going on secret dates with a boy-" I slammed my desk to interrupt her.

Hazel Lokrest doesn't know how to read people at all.

Suddenly the whole classroom looked at me.

"Sorry, there was a mosquito. I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I played it off and left the classroom. When I looked down, the gem part of my watch looked like it was glowing. Maybe it was from the light, even so, it looked pretty bright. I kept thinking about how annoying Hazel was being until I saw Carlos and Sheri. They both have different class periods, so I got curious. Really curious. Was it right if I spied on them? I mean, only Sheri was supposed to be in the Science wing so technically I'll just be bumping into them if anything.

They were looking at something that was out of my sight. Sheri was holding that metal fan of hers that she's had for a while and Carlos was holding what looked like a piece of metal. They were both looking down, so I slowly crept up on them. But then, Carlos put his arm around her, and I stopped and froze. What was I supposed to do now? If I walk away, I would have to think about that the whole day, but if I kept walking it would probably be worse. I decided to stay and see what was happening, Carlos quickly took his arm away and grabbed her hand, running towards HEL, and the wing I was in. I ran to the stairwell as fast as I could and it seemed like they didn't see me.

I'm not sure why but I have a feeling I'm not getting the full picture. I mean, they would've told me if they were dating, right? They're my closest friends. Is this why Hazel was referring to 'Sheri's new boyfriend'? I'm not really sure about any of those questions but I shouldn't jump to conclusions, even though it's a little bit cruel to keep me out of touch like this.

I walked back into class. My teacher has started to talk, but she just glanced at me and continues on with her lecture. I went back and sat in contemplation, wondering all the different scenarios that would have occurred. It was just a misunderstanding, right?
