One hand was wrapped around my waist, the other clasped in my own hand as we spun, no one else was even in the room, just us dancing slowly, too caught up in one another to really care about the beat of the music or the others in the room. They didn't matter, this was just us, together, soaking in one another's presence, our love for one another radiating off like waves.

We were America's power couple, the wonderful and talented singer and their amazing boyfriend who worshiped the ground they walked on. We were perfect, we were flawless, we were everything.

"Oh Kelly!" Tay sang, her voice coming from my room, my eyes widened and I dropped my broom and ran out of the living room, if Tay was in my room that only meant one thing.

She and Jenna got in another fight and like always, she was going to take it out on me.

It was seriously like this every time, she and Jenna would be a cute, happy couple for a month and then, for like a week they would just be at each other's throats ready to kill one another and went on a break. But, when they were broken up like this, I paid for it.

Tay got meaner than Lynn and took all of her anger out by tormenting me.

"Tay! Get out of my room!" I whined, running in and groaned when I saw her holding my dress in her hands.

I had just dragged Justin to the mall with me yesterday to find the absolute perfect dress for Vic's masquerade party and now it was in my evil stepsister's finely manicured hands.

"What's this?" She teased, tugging at the lace sleeve, it was a beautiful baby pink dress with lace sleeves that I had actually gotten for a really cheap and affordable price and I had fallen in love with it. "I saw the mask and the invitation too, did you honestly think that it was real? That Vic would invite someone like you to his party? It was a joke Kells!" Tay said with a harsh laugh before she called Lynn in the room. "Hey Lynn, Kellin thought he was actually invited to your boyfriend's masquerade!"

Lynn laughed, "Oh that's great! The charity case invited? Vic only did that because he felt bad, he didn't actually think you would want to show up."

I bit my lip, trying to hold back tears. It couldn't be true, Vic wasn't like that, he was nice.

"Can I please just have my dress back?" I whispered, playing with the hem of my shirt carefully as I looked down at the floor, I hated this. I hated how weak I fucking felt around my stepfamily, I wasn't like this with anyone but them and I don't know why. It wasn't just because my dad made me promise to be good for Lacey, there had to be something more than just that. I mean, I could take care of myself, I didn't let people bully me, I always stood up for myself with that kind of shit.

Unless it was coming from Lynn, Lacey and Tay then, for some reason I was just this quiet little wimp and I hated it so much.

"Why do you even have dresses? You're a guy Kellin, real men don't wear dresses," Lynn said rolling her eyes.

"But Lynny, don't you know? Kellin's not a real man, he's some little girly boy. Just a little he she," Tay said as Lynn looked around, her eyes landing on my invitation from Vic.

"Aw, isn't this just so sweet?" She mocked, ripping the envelope in half.

"Lynn!" I yelled, scrambling to get to her before she could rip it anymore.

"I wonder what Mom would do if she found out that you were going to try and sneak out to a party," Tay mused, shoving past me, my dress still in her hands.

"Tay!" I yelled, running after her to Lacey's room.

"Hey Mom, Kellin thinks he's actually going to go to a party tonight!" She sang, waltzing into my stepmother's room.

Lacey turned and gave me an amused look, her hands going to her hips, "You're what?" She asked with a laugh, almost as though the very idea of me going to a party was just absolutely ludicrous or something.

I sighed and bit the inside of my cheek briefly, "I'm not doing anything," I said quietly. "I was going to go to a party but, Tay reminded me that I can't." I told her, keeping in mind what Dad told me.

"Exactly, you can't go to a party! If you did who would stay here to pass out all of that candy I bought for the neighborhood kids? Besides, someone needs to keep an eye out in case someone decides to prank us and egg the house or something." She said and I nodded slowly.

"Yes Ma'am," I mumbled, wringing my hands, trying to keep from bursting into tears, this was going to be my chance, I was going to use this night to show Vic how much I liked him and that I would be a better partner than Lynn ever would be.

"Well I'm glad we're on the same page then," she said with a fake smile and looked at her daughters. "Lynn, Tay, why don't you two just take that hideous dress to the Goodwill or something? Kellin doesn't need a reminded for this, besides, I think it's about time that he learns that he can't just dress up as a girl whenever he feels like it. Kellin, Sweetie, I know you forget sometimes but, you're a boy and you need to learn how to dress and act like one."

My eyes burned as I watched my stepsisters take my dress out of the room. I just didn't get it, why couldn't I just have one night to have fun? What did I do to make these three hate me so much?

"Oh Kellin, real boys don't cry," Lacey tsked. "Now what are you still doing in here? You have chores to do." She said in a snarky voice, I nodded once and hurried out of the room as quickly as possible before I started crying.

"Be good for Dad, be good for Dad, be good for Dad," I repeated quietly to myself, walking down the hallway, clenching and unclenching my fists.

The rest of the day went by slowly as I went through all of my chores, silently cursing my stupid stepfamily as I listened to Tay and Lynn excitedly get ready for Vic's party, Lacey getting ready for some stupid party of her own.

"Alright Kellin, we're going to head out. Don't let anyone come in and don't you dare leave this house or else I will know," Lacey said, ushering the girls out of the house and pointed to the little security camera that she had in front of the front door.

I nodded obediently, "I'll just be here the whole night passing out candy." I said softly. Lacey gave me a final stern look before leaving the house. I let out a sad sigh and went on up to my room, texting Justin to let him know that I of course, had to cancel and pulled out my iPod, ready to edit one of my angstier songs when my room suddenly shown brighter than ever before, temporarily blinding me.

Once I gained my vision back after blinking rapidly for a few seconds, I found someone with bright, cherry red hair in a yellow dress and fairy wings standing in front of me.

I let out a loud scream and fell off of my bed as I scrambled away as quickly as possible, pressing my back against the wall wide eyed.

"Who the fuck are you?!" I asked, absolutely freaked out.

They grinned, "Hi Kellin! I'm Gerard and I'm your Fairy Gay Mother!"
