Makayla: Renee wtf? You told me you would be here at 5:00pm. It's 6!
Renee: jeez calm down! I didn't even know we were going still??
Makayla: well I'm ready and we're still going. Hurry up!
Renee: okay fine. Let me get ready. I'll be there in 30. K?
Makayla: okay
Makayla POV
*HONK* I hear the obnoxiously loud horn of Renee's ugly old mom van. I grab my bag and step outside shutting the door behind me and locking it. I run as fast as I can to Renee's van and hop into the passengers seat. I set my bag down at my feet. "Renee fucking GO!" I yell laughing. Renee backs out of the driveway and drives away. "When did you get the idea we weren't going?" I asked her. "I don't know. I kinda just forgot"
"How the hell did you forget?" I say jokingly.
Renee sits in silence holding in her laugh.
We pull up to the movies and get out. I slam the car door shut and walk fast towards the front entrance trying not to miss the movie.
"Two for the 6:15 movie please"
We walk up to the snack station and buy popcorn along with two sodas.
I hand the employee my ticket and rush down the hall. I enter the movie and pick my seat. Renee trips up the stairs but I just ignore her. The previews before the movie begin and I've already eaten half of my popcorn and I'm almost halfway done with my drink. I look over to see if Renee has some popcorn I can take and I notice a boy sitting at the opposite end as us. He's on his phone scrolling through what looked like Instagram. I tap on Renee's shoulder signaling her to look over on her right. Her eyes widen and she looks at me. "Wow he's s-" she says, but before she finishes I cut in. "I call dibs" I whisper yell. We argue for 3 minutes, but let it go because the movie finally started. About 10 minutes into the movie I look to the right again and notice that the boy has his phone, but this time he's not on Instagram. His camera is pointed towards me. I look into his eyes and he quickly puts down his phone and looks at the screen.
"RENEE"
"What do you want?" She replies
"He was taking a picture of me"
"It was probably of me" she says flipping her hair as a joke
"No really Renee. He was taking a picture of me."
"You should talk to him after the movie"
"Renee are you crazy? He'll never talk to me, like...ever"
"Go for it. What do you have to lose?"
"Fine I'll try"
We sit for another hour and finally the movie is over. I get up from my seat and walk down the stairs to the exit. As soon as I stepped foot out the door I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was big so I knew it wasn't Renee's. Plus she was in front of me so I knew it definitely wasn't her. I turn around. I'm looking right into his big brown eyes.
"I'm Zach" he says.
I don't know what to say back and I stutter.
"Uh hi. I'm Makayla" I smile
"GET SOME HOE!" Renee yells running away from me. Zach laughs.
"Do you think I could get your number?" He asks.
"Um. Yeah sure!" I say being a little louder than I wanted to. He laughs again and hands me his phone so I can put my number in.
I hand him the phone back and before I could do anything he grabs my hand. He brings it closer to his lips and kisses my hand. It was for only 3 seconds, but it felt like a lifetime. Everything around me stopped and my stomach turned, but In a good way. He lets my hand go and smiles. He walked away. I stared. Even his walk was perfect. I turn around and see Renee hiding in the corner with her jaw on the ground. I'm standing there frozen. A few people look at me and start clapping. Renee runs over.
"WTF JUST HAPPENED MAKAYLA" she yells loudly.
"Uh...I...uh...I don't know" I say still shaken from what happened minutes ago.
"GIRL I TOLD YOU TO GET SOME AND TRUST ME YOU GOT SOME!" Renee says still yelling.
