"One kind word can change a persons entire day."

Peter ran off the field at full tilt - and that meant full Spiderman speed. "Peter!" He heard MJ call as he ran inside, followed by screams as the Avengers landed. Peter just really needed no one to die before he got his suit on.

He flung open his locker, and his heart dropped to his toes. The arc reactor. He hadn't done anything with the arc reactor yet...

He shook his head at himself, pulling the device out. He should've been focusing on that, and not distracted by school. Stupid, stupid... He turned the reactor roughly over in his hands, finally locating what he was searching for.

The power cartrages.

The small, glowing blue tubes of liquid electricity glowed at him as he pulled them out. Popping open his web cartrages, he hastily mixed the fluids together, cringing as he did so. With no way to put in any kind of shock absorbers or a thin membrane to seperate the fluids...

This was going to hurt.

Not giving himself time to regret this, Peter grabbed his mask and stuffed it in his jacket. Just as he did so, people started bursting into the hallways, finally figuring out that the Avengers were not there on a social call.

Peter darted into the bathroom and pulled off his clothes, revealing his suit underneath. He pulled on his mask and gloves, before shoving his balled up clothes in his backpack. Just as he was about to run out, Ned ran in, panting. Peter guessed his friend had only just caught up to him.

"Peter, the web shooters...!"

"Sh!" Peter said quickly, and a hand flew over Ned's mouth. Thankfully, there was no one in the bathroom. "It'll be fine. Don't worry about it." Peter said, handing Ned his backpack. "Did you mix the fluids?" Ned continued as Peter was dodged into the hallway.

"Yup."

"With no modifications?" Ned yelled as Peter broke into a run. "P- Spiderman...!"

"I know!" Peter called over his shoulder, bursting out of the hallways that were quickly taking notice of him. "Woo Spiderman!!!" Flash yelled as Peter ran by. "Do you really know Peter Parker?" Spiderman ignored the question as he ran out onto the field, to find the team of Avengers standing at attention.

"Oh hey guys, long time no see." Spiderman grinned, though no one could see under his mask. "We knew you wouldn't take long." Captain America said, his expression not changing. Peter hated the whole 'vessel' idea, and creepy speaking wasn't making it grow on him.

"Yeah, how'd you find me anyways?" Peter asked, dodging a few shots from Natasha. The Avengers seemed determined to hold position, and the range shooters were the only ones shooting. They don't seem eager to all fight at the same time. Peter realized. As if Loki is having trouble controlling all of them at once...

"Tony wasn't very... cooperative when it came to your identity." Wanda explained, attempting to catch him in a crimson blast. Peter also noticed Loki wasn't very good at controlling abilities such as Wanda's. Maybe this would be easier than he...

"However, we managed to get a location." This came from Hawkeye, who managed to scratch Spiderman with a glancing arrow while he was distracted by his own thoughts and not paying attention to his spidey sense. Brain in the game, Pete! He reminded himself, grabbing his cut arm.

The Avengers held formation, so Spiderman decided he would have to go in first. This is going to be fun. Peter readied himself, dodging a blow from Black Widow and Scarlet. Finally, he shot his first web.

And completely missed.

Cap dodged easily, and Peter disconnected the web before it could give him the unecessary shock. The field was open, so there weren't many places for Peter to hide. He did notice something important though, and quickly.

Iron Man was not present.

Guess I'm not the only one with a new trick up my sleeve. Peter deducted, but quickly pulled himself out of his thoughts as Falcon dive-bombed him. After being Cap's punching bag for a few moments, Peter lashed out with another web. It struck Cap right in the chest, and both screamed as the electricity conducted across them. Peter pulled away - stumbled, really - and turned to Natasha, who punched him in the jaw.

"It's a hard knock life for me." Peter managed to sing weakly from his position on the ground, right before Nat knocked the wind out of him with a sharp kick to the stomach.

"Pull yourself together, Spiderman!" Peter heard Ned call from the bleachers, and he looked up in surprise. Ned was still here? Before he could thank his friend, Peter felt the red energy snake around him from Wanda's control.

"Oh... no... you... don't!" Peter yelled through gritted teeth, shooting a web and catching Wanda's wrist. Again, the electricity pounded in Peter's skull before he dropped to the ground. 2 down, still 5 to go. Great statistics. Definitely keep thinking like that. Peter groaned, pushing himself up as Falcon landed in front of him.

"Hey, kid." Falcon/Loki scoffed, before the winged warrior flew at him. "Hi!" Peter said, dodging over that and shooting a web at him. Falcon fell to the ground, and Peter dropped to his knees. He didn't know how long he could keep this up.

Soon, however, he learned it wasn't him that would give out first.

Peter jumped up and tried to shoot a web at War Machine that was flying at him. He braced himself for the shock... that never came. No! Peter opened to his eyes to find the web cartrage was empty or jammed, and War Machine crashed into him, knocking him into the bleachers.

"Spiderman!" Ned hissed, and Peter looked down at him through the slotted seats. "I'm out of webs!" Peter hissed hysterically, yanking out the empty cartrage and fitting the new one. "You mean...?" Ned's eyes widened.

"Yes." Peter shuddered, looking as the remaining Avengers reassembled for a second attack.

"Time for a new plan."

It's already going south for our webslinging school kid! This doesn't bode well. Oh well, time to see if this ends in Peter's glorious demise, or a miraculous (ladybug) win!
