"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today."

Peter swung through the streets of New York, heading home. He couldn't exactly walk upstairs in his suit, so he headed for his window. He slid it open, wincing at the sound in the silent night. That's right - it was night already. Ned probably thought he was dead. Not to even mention Aunt May.

Crawling in through the squeaky window, Peter quickly closed it behind him. He turned around and was immediately tackled by his best friend. "Oh my SPARKS, Peter!" Ned gushed, squeezing the life out of his friend.

"Wait, it is you right? Not taken over by Loki? Did you come to corrupt me to?" Ned suddenly skittered away and Peter was able to take a breath. "No, it's me, don't worry." He chuckled.

"Ned? Is that..." May swung open the door and gasped, stunned for a moment before rushing forward and suffocating Peter in a hug. She had barely seen him in a week, but had been watching the news non-stop.

May sobbed into her nephews shoulder and smoothed his wild hair hysterically after he pulled off his mask. "It's ok, Aunt May. I'm ok." Peter assured, squeezing his aunt. Aunt May pulled back and took in his slight smile, letting out a long breath of relief.

"If you ever go out there without contacting me again, I swear I will hurt you." May warned, steely glint in her eye. "Right, of course." Peter nodded with a grin, though his heart was heavy. Could he really do that? Would there be missions that would keep him from the people he loved... indefinitely? Would he really be able to not lie to his loved ones?

"Dude, what happened out there?" Ned broke in, and May stepped back and sat at Peter's desk, her knees suddenly too weak to hold her up. Peter sat on his bed by Ned and shook his head in disbelief. (A/N Bed? Ned? See what I did there?)

"Honestly, I barely know. Loki used the mind stone in Vision..."

"Wait, wait, wait. Loki? As in the psycho asgard who happens to be Thor's brother? And the mind stone? The one that used to be in his staff that is now in Vision's head? He can still control it?" Ned rambled, hands flailing in the air. "Apparently, though I don't know how." Peter shrugged. "He did use it though. Took control of Vision and then the rest of the Avengers! They were coming after me, but I managed to escape them twice. Then they attacked at the school - Wanda, that's Scarlet Witch, told me Vision managed to get an image of our school from Mr. Stark, and they thought I was a teacher!" Ned and Peter laughed at this, since Peter was smarter than some of the teachers at their school.

"They attacked you at school?!" May repeated, and Peter looked at her in surprise at her outburst. "Uh... yeah, but it was ok. I managed to beat them and..."

"Beat them? I saw the videos, Peter. It seemed more like they beat up you!" May cut in again and Peter tilted his head. "Videos?"

"Come on, man. You were attacked at a high school."

"True. But after I focused my Spidey sense I got the upper hand! For... a while. Then I had to let Loki take control of me so I could beat him from the inside." Ned fist-bumped his friend while Aunt May's brows furrowed further.

"That was so dangerous, Peter. Don't you understand?!" May muttered, shaking her head. "I know I can't stop you, but maybe next time don't take on all the Avengers at once?" She managed to joke, smiling slightly. Peter marveled again at how she was the coolest aunt ever.

"This almost makes me not want to leave you home alone all summer." She admitted, and Peter kneeled beside her. "No, Aunt May! You've been waiting for this trip to Paris all year! I'll be fine." He insisted. May locked eyes with him and then looked up with Ned.

"You sure you'll be fine with just Ned?" She asked incredulously, Ned rubbing the back of his neck with an impish grin. "Just Ned?" Peter turned to look at his friend with a grin. "If not for my guy in the chair, I'd be dead three times over by now - at least!"

oOo

The Avengers were still talking about their next move, though it was mainly Tony and Steve arguing. Suddenly, Dr. Cho burst in panting, holding papers in her hand. "You... have... to see... this!" She huffed, running over to Tony. "What is it?" He asked skeptically, taking the papers of numbers and graphs. "Spiderman's blood work." She announced, and Tony looked up with raised eyebrows. "No way." He muttered, and Steve peered over his shoulder to be met with a whole page of gibberish.

"What does it mean?" He asked, and Cho answered while Tony continued to stand there stunned. "The interesting discovery is that this boy's blood was somehow genetically mutated, making it no type we have ever seen before. I've been calling it Type S for now - as in type Spiderman." She laughed nervously and continued. "This blood is so unusual that if he ever went to a hospital, he would immediately be sent to the freaks ward. If they... had one of those. Anyways, the more urgent news is that in the fight with Loki, he was shocked several times by an arc reactor charge - pure electricity. It sped up his metabolism which was why he healed even faster than he normally would."

"That also explains why he was so hungry." Wanda piped up. "So he did get food? Thank goodness." Helen exhaled. "The downside of a sped up metabolism is the food you have to intake or you could pass out."

"I don't know if he had enough, then." Vision added. "Hopefully his Aunt will feed him."

"Is his immune system permanently in a state of overdrive?" Tony asked, finally breaking from his stupor. "Not permanently, but for a few weeks at least." Helen explained, pointing out things on her chart that only she and Tony really understood.

"It also explains why his adrenaline levels are so high." Tony observed absently. Helen tilted her head. "Also, I don't think he's even hit the crash point yet." She sighed. "Hopefully he has a gatorade."

Yop. Gatorade rules. Never actually needed one though, I think I'm permanently hyper - unless I'm super tired in which case I'll kill you with a look.
Type S! Cool, right? Meh, short notice, all I could come up with. Anywho, anyone like the chappie?
