Hey y'all I know I haven't updated recently I feel really bad I really do, how ever I will try to keep up with this more often just been really busy job hunting, which i am happy so say am no longer doing. and also getting ready for ACT and the such especially with school ending, but hey y'all don't want my excuses y'all want the story and that's what I'll do.
As we were just about to leave, I take one last look at the camp. As I do so I could feel the something was brewing in the sky and in the ground below me. As I turned around to warn Eragon about flying right now, I saw three flashes behind me. I quickly turned around to come face to face with the Big Three, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. "don't you dare fly away." Boomed Zeus "at least not before you hear us out." I looked confused I thought they were supposed to hate me. He must have read my mind, because Zeus said, "Yes you are right. I do not necessarily like you simply because you are Poseidon's child, it may be different with Hades, however you are technically family and thus we want to help you." I didn't quit understand, but they continued before I could ask what they were talking about. "We, that is Hades and I, wish to give you our blessings. We wish to make you strong enough to overcome any obstacle that is thrown at you." I had complete and utter shock written on my face, because I knew right then and there that they had never done this to a son of Poseidon before. I nodded and thanked them. Soon they began muttering in ancient Greek, and before I knew it I felt much stronger. There was only one thing that could have broken the revere of the situation and that is that after they finished their chanting Eragon passed out. I looked at him worriedly, then at Zeus and Hades to ask what had happened to Eragon, but before I could Saphira turned around and was growling at the two gods that stood before her. "Do not worry Dragon, We don't mean any harm to anyone. We just wanted to bless Michael and now we will leave, however know this we will not be able to help you once you get there." She stopped growling, but she still looked at them with a measure of loathing. I wonder why it is not like she could understand what they were saying. After all she was just a dragon. She snorted as I felt a low buzzing in my head. It was only there for a second, but it was definitely something I felt it was not anything I could imagine. Before I had time to dwell on it the gods spoke up, "Michael, we have blessed you beyond any demigod in history, even above your brother Percy. What we have given you are powers." I nodded and thanked them, but before I could finish Hades stepped in and said, "Michael, I have given you the power to raise the dead, almost like Nico, but more powerful. In fact so powerful you could revive someone who has passed away. I also gave you the ability to shadow travel. This should be useful, because it could help with travel, but also it should let you go back and forth between the this world and the other." I was very grateful for this because I knew that it could be an invaluable skill to have especially if I needed help I could come back and get friends and family. Then Zeus spoke and said, "I have given you my blessing, this means that you may fly in my domain. It also means that you can combine your powers of water and lighting and do some serious damage, however know this we do not do this without saying do not betray us, because if you do we will not hesitate to destroy you and your dragons. Us gods can be kind, but we must not be so kind that we put ourselves in danger. These last few wars have proven that clearly enough." Then Poseidon came up to me as the other two flashed out. He said, "Mike listen what we have just done for you has never been done before, but just remember they did it partially because I asked them, and second because even though you are my son", they are family, and family must always stick together. Especially when you learn what you will face there." I nodded and smiled at him, then frowned cause of what he said about facing something. I mean I knew demigod lives where never easy, but I am kind of worried on what I was going to experience. As soon as he left I felt that irritating buzz in my head again, and then heard a voice it said, "we must go, we have talked for too long. It is time that we start to head out if we are to make it there before the sun sets." I looked around confused until I noticed Saphira looking at me. Then something clicked in my head and I understood that it was her speaking, for it was obvious in her mind that she was a girl, and also that Dragons, at least from Alegasia, are intelligent and can speak unlike the ones that we demigods deal with. I nodded and began to climb onto Saphira again, but before I did I remembered that I could teleport us there through the shadows if I wished. When I voiced my thoughts to Saphira, for Eragon had not woken up yet, that she agreed, but only on one condition, and that was that I should go first and go alone. I didn't quite understand why I had to go alone. Especially since I would be back, but I nodded and prayed to all the gods I knew as I took out the two small, but growing dragons and laid them on the ground. Before I could back out of what I was about to do I thought about the shadows collecting around me and also collecting in the one place I remembered described in the books, Palancar Valley. As I did a new scene appeared, but it was not what I was expecting. It was the scene of a thriving town. One that if it were in modern times would rival that of nearly any large town. I quickly disappeared into the shadows so that no one would notice me. I quickly made it to the edge of town to try to get out of town, but as I reached the wall I found my way blocked with a wall of considerable size, but it would be an easy climb. Especially when I since I trained on the lava walls at camp. As I started climbing I could start to get the hint of a smell of nature. Normally I only got that smell when I was in the forest at camp. I looked out over the wall and was surprised to see that there was in fact a forest, and also mountains. As I started to study the land further, I knew that I had, in fact shadow traveled to Carvahall. I knew I needed to get back to Eragon and Saphira and also my two young dragons. I jumped over the wall and landed with a loud thud, but it didn't hurt that bad because Perce and I had been practicing falling off of pegasi from far greater distances than what I just had. I grabbed a branch off a tree so that I had proof to show Saphira so that she would believe me when I told her that I had made it to Alegasia and that shadow traveling was safe, and that the gods had not deceived us.
Saphira POV (y'all probably weren't expecting this one now were ya)
Where is that two-legged-cat-eyes. He has been gone for close to an hour, after he suddenly vanished into shadows. When he did I almost attacked all the two-legs in the area, because I thought we were dealing with another shade like Durza and Varough, but reason told me that the two-leg-cat-eyes-Michael was not a shade because he would never have become a rider if he were possessed with spirits. I lay down on the hard break-bone-ground and closed my inner eyelid so that I could watch for danger and protect partner-of-my-heart-and-mind-Eragon and the two hatchlings, which where over playing with a very large dog, from any danger if it were to show up. Just as I get comfortable I hear a slight rustling behind me. Then I feel a familiar mind, which means that half-god-Michael has returned. When I turn around I see him holding a branch with a triumphant smile on his face. Before I could question what had happened I felt Eragon stir on my back. And I could tell he was about to ask what happened while he was out, but before he could Michael spoke, "Saphira tell me if you smell home on this branch cause if you do then we can go forward with the plan, but if you don't then we will need to fly to the portal." He held that branch to my nose I sniffed and sensed a rush of smells. Smells that I had thought I would never smell again. Especially since Eragon and I could never return. I smelled home, I smelled Carvahall.
