Hey y'all sorry about missing a chapter last week it took longer to write than I was expecting so here you go
Mike's POV
"Saphira be ready as soon as Eragon wakes up we will scare him." I smile mischievously and Saphira gets a toothy grin, even my two dragons tried an approximation of a smile. It was a weird sight but funny none the less. We got ready as we saw Eragon stir and eyelids flutter. The plan was simple we would simply disappear into the spine while I placed certain abilities on the water near Eragon so that he could scry any of us. When he tried it would appear dark because I would be able to use the air and water in the air to block the light getting to us so that he would not be able to see an image in the water that he would use. Then when he started to freak out we would appear right behind him with my shadow traveling. It would be awesome. In fact we had even gotten Roran's help. He would be the first person Eragon sees because just as he woke up Roran would run in and act like we were missing. It would be funny.
Just as Eragon woke up we silently slipped into the forest. Far enough away that he couldn't see us but that Saphira, with her hawk like vision, could see him. Eragon reacted to the first part exactly how we had planned. He tried scrying us and failed and that is when he started to freak out. We could tell Eragon was trying his hardest to remain calm, but Saphira knew it wasn't going well. She had lived with him long enough to know that he was going crazy with worry, even though their minds weren't connected. That way it would seem even more believable. Just as we had planned Roran came in breathing very heavy as if he had been running around looking for someone. He was a very good actor and he started telling a tale of how some people had come into the spine and had taken all of us somewhere. He said this all happened about a day ago and that today the people of Carvahall found our carcasses near the edge of the spine. At first Eragon looked very confused as to how Roran had gotten here because he didn't know we had shadow traveled to Alegasia, but as soon as what Roran said had processed in his head that is when he really started to freak out. That is when I couldn't take it any more I pulled out my sword Stormbringer then looked at Saphira and nodded. She quickly curled her tail around me and a second later we were behind Eragon. Before he knew who we were he pulled his sword out and tried to slice us down, but I blocked and pushed him back. This was the reason why I had pulled my sword out. I pulled it out because I knew how fast Eragon's reflexes are and I knew that if he were to attack he would be too quick for me to pull out my sword. After the first attack Eragon saw dumbfounded as Saphira, my dragons, and I stood there completely unharmed. He nearly passed out while the five of us laughed at his expression and at the prank we had just pulled.
After we had settled down from the prank Eragon asked, "How are we here? Before I passed out we were at that camp with those people chanting in the . . ." he looked shocked the continued, "How are you still alive? You should be dead with the amount of power that was given to you." That kind of shocked me. I mean ya I know I was just blessed by the gods but I seriously wasn't given that much power. Was I? " What do you mean I should be dead?" "Well what I mean is that they transferred so much power into the spell they put on you that you should not be here. I have never experienced that much power in a spell before. Even when the dragons helped me defeat Galbatorix. I had nearly been torn apart during that, but what those three people just did surpassed that of even the strongest magician. I don't know what you are completely or how you are alive, but you shouldn't be and that is all I know. If you don't mind telling me what has happened since I passed out I would greatly appreciate it." I nodded then opened up my mind and before I reached for his mind I asked, "Eragon it would be easier to show you would you mind if I put the memories in you so that you would know." He nodded then I felt his barriers lower and I started to funnel my memories of the past couple of hours into his head. When I finished he looked like he was going to pass out again. He looked at me with utter amazement. Then said, "Michael I don't know how you are alive after what you have done. especially in the last couple of hours especially, but all I know is that you are a Dragon Rider with two dragons, which I might add has never happened before in the history of Alegasia. Also you are the son of and elf with half the blood of a god. This makes you extremely dangerous. In fact I don't believe you or anyone else knows the extent of your powers. I think you could over power anyone including me. As soon as we get Brom's mountain we can start your training to see how far advanced you really are. For now let's get out of here. I don't even know where we are, except for we are somewhere near Carvahall considering Roran's here. I nod then tell everyone to hold onto me as I prepare to shadow travel us to Carvahall. As soon as we step out of the shadows into the square at Carvahall everyone stops and stares at us. What I see is how most people describe an old styled village. All around town there are small log cabins as well as businesses, but otherwise it looks exactly the way it is described in the book but with one major difference it had a wall surrounding the town as well as a castle up on a hill not far out of town. Eragon looked around and smiled here was his childhood home, here was the place he grew up and would probably always consider a home. I smiled then said, "Eragon we should go meet Roran. I kind of promised him we would since he helped us with that prank. That and he has a surprise that I think you would like see." He nodded a bit confused, but quickly recovered and said, "ok we will leave, but I plan on flying on Saphira I don't like that shadow traveling thing you do. And since you completely know where we are going I suggest you hop on too because as you can see your dragons are too small to ride yet and it would be faster than walking. I nodded and handed him the two small dragons that were hiding inside of my jacket. He took them and set them in the saddle behind him reaching his hand out to me. I quickly shook my head and said, "I am sorry, but id like to try something out. I will try to keep up, but if I don't ill shadow travel to the castle and ill wait for you." He nodded and something passed between him and Saphira then I heard in my head 'lets give him a race shall we'. He probably didn't mean for me to hear that because as soon as I did I took off running and used the wind to support myself just like Jason does when he flies. It took Saphira by surprise because it took her a couple of seconds before she started winging her way to try to catch me. The only problem was that I was a lot lighter than her and was able to gain speed much faster than her and was also able to stay lower and dodge through the trees and such until I reached the castle gates seconds before Saphira reached them. When she landed there was a solid thump as her weight settled back to the ground. I smiled as I heard her growl, "congratulations it is not an easy thing to beat me in a race, in fact it has never been done especially without a dragon to help. I smiled then turned to the guard that was standing near the castle wall, "we have a meeting with Stronghammer. Please send him out because it would be difficult for Saphira to accompany us if she wishes." The guard quickly nodded and ran off to find Roran. When he was gone I turned to Eragon, "Would you like to spar seeing as we didn't get a chance to completely finish our duel before." He nodded thinking that he could easily win, but now I had a few more tricks up my sleeve and I would hopefully be able to win.
As we both stood up he unsheathed his sword and placed a spell on it that would blunt the edge of it so that he would not kill me. I smiled and did something similar. However I did mine with water because I didn't know the ancient language like Eragon did. As we got into our ready position I smiled and charged.
