Recap:
My footsteps stopped when I saw a familiar blonde at the end of the hallway, swaying and looking dizzy.
"A-Ayano?"
Chapter 8: True Colors II
Yui came closer to me in shock.
"It really is you. I thought I was seeing and hearing things due from blood loss." Yui said while embracing me in a hug.
"But, why are you here? The Mukamis and Sakamakis are both vampires... And I thought you ran away.... Where you able to call father? What did he say? Ayano, I found the strangest thing! There was a diary in the mansion, and it said that I wasn't father's daughter! And when I checked again, the pages were all blank! And I can't call you or father because they took away my cellphone!" Yui rambled.
My fringe of hair covered my eyes, as I looked down.
"Yui, have you realized it?" I asked.
"Huh? Ayano, what are you talking about? Did you call father? Where you able to reach him?" Yui persisted.
"Father is not overseas, but relaxing by himself, feeling satisfied by how he got rid of us so easily!! Yui, I see it in your eyes, despair. And yet you still believe in God and that bastard you called father?!? How naive and stupid you must be, to still have hope in your eyes even though you know you won't be saved. To make it in this world, you can't except someone else's kindness, you have you care for yourself, because in less than a second, you'll get stabbed in the back by someone you trust!!!" I completely lost it, yelling at Yui with such force that she shriveled away from me, a new fear reflecting her eyes. Never once had I yelled at Yui before, even when she did something so incredibly stupid, I was able to keep my calm.
"Ayano, what are you talking about?" Yui said while voice shaking.
"Just... Just forget it..." I said while sighing and burying my face in my ringed hands.
"Ayano.... We have to contact father..." Yui kept persisting in a whisper.
"Call him yourself, I'm done with that bastard." I leered at Yui while turning my heels, to walk away.
"Ayano!! Wait! I don't under-" Yui was cut short by her own screaming. I looked back to see that she tripped by her own two left feet.
I was just about to walk away, rolling my eyes, when I noticed blood streaming out of her right knee.
"Yui, you said, the people you were staying with, the Sakamakis, are vampires?" I said in a slow voice that even a preschooler could understand.
"Hai. There's 6 of them." Yui responded.
"They're here, aren't they?" Panic was slowly rising from the tips of my black high heels.
"They go to the same school...." Yui said slightly confused.
In an instant, I slapped my bare hand on Yui's bloody knee. She cried out in pain, but I hushed her like she was a crying infant.
Footsteps seemed echoed the entire school, and the aura changed.
"They're here, they're all here. All 10 of them" I sighed, while putting my head down, my hand still pressing on her wound.
Yui's eyes widened as realization of what was happening.
