Dad decided he had business to 'attend to' so he went back up to his office but Mum said she'd take me to meet the new couple who had apparently bought half of the resort. I still can't believe that my parents agreed to selling half of this place, it's their pride and joy. But I'm guessing that the couple who bought it have no intentions of changing or altering this little slice of paradise since mum and dad both agreed to selling it to them.
I feel the nervousness in the pit of my stomach start to rise as we made our way to some of the on site headquarters where there's sleeping quarters for the owners, which used to be our house until we moved into our home right now. I always get a bit nervy and a bit shaky when I meet new people but I guess that's what I get for be the antisocial person that I am. I smile at my own stupidity just as Mum knocks on the large cherry wood door in front of us. I stand fiddling with my fingers waiting for the door to finally open. And just like that the door swings open to reveal a small lady with long chestnut brown hair down to her hips where the tips curled slightly, the roots slightly greying with her age. She happily greets my mum as I take in her appearance. She is literally the definition of beautiful, her small heart shaped face lit up as soon as her eyes landed on me her smile pulling at the corners of her clear blue eyes.
"Hey Doll! You must be Robyn, Maria's told me a lot about you." Her pearly white teeth on full display as she watches me with a giant grin. An awkward smile tugs at my lips.
"All good things I hope." I laugh, lightly nudging my mum with my hip, she just lent me an apologising smile to hide the fact that she really did tell this lady some sort of embarrassing story about me.
"My name is Georgia, it's lovely to meet you sweetcheeks." Georgia butted in happily pulling me in for a hug. I returned it, with a little push from my mum, push as in she had in fact pushed me into the poor woman. I say poor because when I said she's small I meant it, absolutely tiny, smaller than me and that's a statement. I'm 5'2, but this woman is be barely scraping 5'1.
"Come in meet the family." She grinned dragging me by the wrist into the house my mum just smiled.
"Georgia, I must get going, look after my daughter for a bit will you?" She asked shooting me a wink before stepping back out of the out.
"Not a problem Maria! See you!" She cooed back.
"Bye then!" Mum hollered into the house. My face suddenly feels as though you could cook an egg on it.
Soon enough I'm dragged into the living room where a little girl is curled up on the sofa her head shoved into a book that looked two times her body weight.
"Connie, Honey." Georgia called the little girl, beckoning her head out of the book. The girl looked up at her mother before her eyes slid over to me and she jumps up.
"Hi! I'm Connie, I'm 7." She grins showing me her gappy smile.
"Hey, I'm Robyn." I can't help but crack a tiny giggle at the girl's swift change in mood.
"Oh you mean Robin as in the bird? Or like Batman and Robin?" She pressed on getting closer and closer to me until she's right under my nose.
"Almost, except Robin spelt with a 'y' instead of an 'i'." I beam at the curly haired seven year old, I tap her nose gently earning me a loud robust laugh her soft brown curls shaking across her face.
"You are so going to be my new best friend" she spoke with a broad smile her toad coloured eyes sparkling. I nodded my head in agreement and looked at Georgia for a second, she seemed to be completely stunned by the conversation I just had with her daughter. Instantaneously a shriek erupted from beside me making me jump backwards, I quickly lose my footing and land on whoever the poor soul is behind me. We fall to the floor with a bang.
"Oh my god!" I yell quickly scrambling to my feet. "Are you okay?!" I query looking down at the dark haired boy I just knocked to the floor, I reach out a hand to help him up, he laughs rubbing his head with one hand, grabbing mine with the other.
"I didn't know angels literally fall out of heaven." He mumbled dusting himself off, a lopsided smirk painted on his face. Mine on the other hand burnt like a marshmallow over a campfire. I look over my shoulder at the reason why I got startled and came face to face with the bubbly brown haired girl hanging from her father's shoulder.
"Daddy I think we scared Robbie." She pouts clambering off from her dad to hug my leg against her tiny body. "At least you caught her fall Sebbie! You really are a knight in shiny armour." She squeals letting go of me to bombard her brother with a hug. The whole family definitely looked related. The dad stood there with a proud look on his face, his eyes glow green and his hair the colour of sand, and again he's greying just like his wife. Well maybe a bit more. Just a little.
Georgia looks at me from where she stands and a look of realisation washes over her face.
"Oh, Robyn this is my Husband Christian and my son Sebastian." she smiles sweetly gesturing toward the two new faces either side of me. Christian smiles heartily at me taking my hand in his giving it a good old shake. Sebastian on the other hand, with his sister a bundle in his arms, well he just winks. Oh great, another player.
Mike will not be happy with the unneeded competition.------
