Wattpad is not a dating site. Okay?

I truly don't understand why people choose to date others here on Wattpad. When you installed the app or signed up on the computer, you did so to read books and share your writing with others. That is what Wattpad is all about.

You did not sign up to form intimate relationships with somebody over Wattpad Private Message.

Online dating, whether on Wattpad or an actual dating site, has always made me feel uncomfortable. I wish I could drill this into people's minds but you don't know who is on the other side of the screen.

I think it's especially scary on Wattpad only because Wattpad doesn't allow you to do anything beyond sending messages back and forth. Someone could put up a convincing argument and try to tell you that they're somebody else and you'd never know.

I want to end this rant by saying be careful on the Internet. I can't tell you what to do, but if I could, then I'd say don't date people on Wattpad. You never know who you might be talking to.

And for me, that's freaking scary.
