She wants to move forward,
But he looms over her shoulder.
She tries to shut him out but he's always there.
He's hard to forget.
Maybe it's time she ran far away instead of walking, so he would never be able to catch up. She could leave him behind, but she would loose everyone else too.
He keeps following her without knowledge of doing so.
He overwhelms her with restraints much like blinders on horses.
He forces her to only look straight ahead, but she's ready to explore the things around her.
He makes her feel trapped and confused but she doesn't want to cause him more pain.
So she keeps walking like everyone else moving forward through an illusion of elongated time.
But instead of him feeling the pain, she cages it inside of herself.
He doesn't know this.
Although it's her fault for walking the path of eggshells and allowing herself to be controlled by emotion.
He doesn't hold the reins on her life and she needs to understand that and live without his guidance.
She's stronger and more capable than she realizes.
He is the pain that engulfs the back of one's mind and she is the light searching for a crack in the darkness.
