'It's growing'

Alisha's POV

The tweets of the birds, made it known that it was nearly sunrise and that meant time for me to get up. It was Hunter's idea to learn how to fight in the dark. So everyday at near dawn we'd all go in the garden and learn defence tactics.

Everyone said i was a good fighter, I was always a fast learner from a young age. I think it's the only think I knew about my childhood, I didn't know my mom or dad, neither did I know my cousins or my grandparents. It was just me!

I still have nightmares, I hear my mothers cry, from the day I was born.
My eyes were red, the nightmares were getting worse, I hadn't slept all night, rather I was tossing and turning.

I got up from my bed, to see that Alayna was occupying the bathroom, like always. She was always in there perfecting her image. No one said anything, there was one thing that everyone was holding onto to keep them sane and for Alayna , getting ready, testing makeup and designing outfits were the things she was holding onto. For Hunter, it was fighting. Talking about fighting, I made my way to the garden of the building! Standing there was Gabriel and Hunter.

'Waiting on Alayna again?' Gabriel questioned.
Before any of us could reply the door of the building burst open and out came Alayna in her sports top and leggings.
'Don't say anything!' Alayna warned us.
The three of us snickered, and I covered my mouth, hoping she didn't hear. You see, the normal girl would back up her best friend and do girly stuff, but I wasn't the typical girl and Alayna knew that. The boys accepted me like there own bro. To be honest I had more of the boys' qualities than Alayna's but that didn't change my love for my older sister!

'Ok, so today I'm going to teach ya'll to headlock' Hunter, our personal fighting teacher took his position and displayed a headlock on Shawn and the rest of us followed, Hunter paired up with Alayna and I paired up with Gabriel.

I saw the slight disappointment in Alayna's face. The thing was, Alayna had a crush on Gabriel but Hunter had a crush on Alayna . Eek yeah, I know I'm in the middle. Gabriel sees himself as the protector and provider of the group and he treats Alayna as his sister but Alayna wants more and Hunter, Hunter is crazy for Alayna. It's quite funny to see how their relationships progress each day.

I know I'm a really bad friend, I kind of enjoy it, it's like an Eastenders episode every day!

I had Gabriel in a perfect headlock, but I suddenly released when I felt an immense amount of pain in my left arm.

I dropped to the floor, in pain. A scream of agony left my mouth. Gabriel dropped to my side, trying to help lessen the pain. Hunter ran to get some ice and Alayna she was trying to distract me with conversation. But nothing was working.

I was extremely shocked as my pain threshold was very high and the fact this made me lose my posture meant it was something terrible.

My mark expanding. My mark was in the shape of a lightbulb, the inside a tree. But all of a sudden from the bottom there were lines protruding from all directions, almost like roots.

The pain was intolerable, I didn't even realise I was now in my bed, Alayna holding an ice pack to my head and Hunter and Gabriel discussing my situation.

"What can it mean?" I overheard Hunter say.
"Well, sixteen is a prime age, maybe Alisha is old enough to make a difference, it has too be a sign." Gabriel replied.

I couldn't continue listening, it felt like there was someone continuously bashing my arm. Before I could do anything about it, my eyes shut.
