A/N there'll be two notes here sorryyy. So the Q and A idea was well received so PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS :)) please feel free to ask multiple questions about the story, characters, me, etc. like literally ask a lot I'm desperate

Jinxx stands at the front of the room and has undivided attention from everyone. "So I think we all know what-- or rather who this meeting is about," he begins, averting his eyes to me. "It seems we've found The One finally, but she's in dire need of training and knowledge. So we must make it our duty. Because with our training she can become more powerful than all of us and win this war. We've been prey to the fallen angels for far too long. The Angel Moon is coming soon and we all need to be prepared. Alara you're going to train her in spells--"

Alara didn't look very joyful to be stuck with that duty and, surprise, surprise, it showed.

"CC and Ashley will teach her all the fundamentals of being a warrior--"

"Sweet!" Ashley interrupts, pumping his fist into the air. Jinxx just gives him an annoyed look and continues, like a teacher who's tired of a frustrating student.

"Jake is already a spy for us, and he must be busy with it so he sticks to that. Andy will teach her in battle training and I will study with her," Jinxx explained. "Now, Quinn, the Angel Moon has been awaited and dreaded for decades but it's up and coming. On that night, the moon's light changes so you can see the outline of angel wings on the visible side of the moon and the demons and the fallen angels engage in a war. You're The One to fight on our side and win the war."

It felt weird to be heavily depended on in such a strange thing like this. I didn't think I was capable of it at all.

Jinxx clears his throat. "Now we discuss something else about you, Quinn. I've been able to read you enough to tell what you are."

My pulse quickens, nervous and thrilled at the same time.

"Originally we thought this girl was human, but from her displays of power, she's clearly not. Nor is she a demon, angel, or any of the type. She is a half-blood. One of her parents was human, while the other was a fallen angel. Therefore, their blood mixed and she was created. A half-blood like her hasn't been seen in at least 200 years."

He couldn't be telling the truth... could he? There was absolutely no way one of her workaholic parents could be a fallen angel. "What do you mean? Which parent?" I asked impatiently.

Jinxx paused for a moment before answering. "Your father."

I tried to imagine my work-obsessed dad with black wings but the image refused to come fully together. "Impossible," I say. "My dad isn't a fallen angel, I promise you." He raises an eyebrow. "Oh no, I didn't mean your current human father."

He shrugs as he says it, as if it means nothing, but my whole world as I know it is crashing down. Everything I'd believed my whole life was a lie. "Y-You mean," I stutter. "my father isn't my actual father?"

"Call him a step father."

It feels like the walls are closing in on me. I find it hard for me to breathe at all. Andy notices my shallow breathing and he massages my hand to try to get me to calm down. I appreciate his kindness, but it doesn't help too much. I wasn't even born from the dad I've been raised from. Did my mom know my real father was a fallen angel when she had me? Why did he leave? Who was he? Why couldn't he have explained this to me years ago?

I push myself off the couch suddenly. "I need some air." I can feel all their eyes on the back of my head as I leave the living room, but I don't really care.
