I watched as he opened the door to a private room, which held several people, of whom I did not know. I was almost scared.

A plethora of questions drifted in my mind. Who were they? Why did he bring me here? What was he going to do? What was he going to say about me?

He took one look behind him, stroked the back of my hand with his thumb, which calmed me slightly, before he pulled me gently into him. And the room full of people I didn't know.

He closed the door behind me, and I looked at it longing, as if it would just open and let me go, from the awkward silence that drifted around the room.

It was then that Jasper spoke, "I found her, hiding behind a corner. She was radiating nervousness and worry."

A blonde dude, who looked slightly older than the rest, stood up and walked to us. He looked at me before putting a hand on Jasper's shoulder.
"Jasper. I know that you haven't found your mate, but this girl simply isn't the one. Just let her go, and she can go back to enjoying the party."

Jasper looked at him bewildered, as if he knew that this other dude didn't see what he saw.
He looked at the dude, before looking back at me. "Do you not see her bag on her shoulder, or the rings under her eyes, by any chance?"

To which, confused, the other dude scrunched up his face, and said, "No?"

Jasper looked at me, before smiling slightly. "You have some sort of power don't you."

"Yes. Yes, she does." A cat, laid in the corner of the room answered.
