Diversity in all its forms

Unless you've gone through the same thing you won't understand, and that's okay. It's okay that you don't understand. I understand myself. You don't define me, and therefore you don't have to understand. I define me. I am who I am and if you can't comprehend that, that's your problem, not mine.

I'm the person I am today because of those tiny little boxes that we just love putting ourselves in. People forget that there are a diversity of boxes. You don't have to pick the box everyone else is picking. You can make your own box, and that box is just as valid as any other box because that box makes you you. That box makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.

The amazing part is that you don't have to pick one box, you can pick as many boxes as you like. You are you and no one can tell you otherwise, not me, not some random deity that lives in the sky, not your family, and not your friends. You define you. No one else can define you.

That box makes you feel hopeful. That box makes you feel alive. That box helps you realize that you are sane. That box shows you that there is nothing wrong with you. That box helps you to be the very best person you can be. Even if everyone you know hates your box, your box makes you feel sane and only you can change your box.

It's okay to change boxes. Change boxes as many times as you have to. Boxes are supposed to help you find words for what you are. When you find the right words your life will be better.

It's okay. Everything will be okay. I know that it's cliche, but I swear that it will get better. People will respect your pronouns. People won't say that it's just a phase. You will be the best person you can be. You will survive.
