I find the sentence "Other people have it worse," really toxic. Yes, I know other people have it worse, and it's not that I don't care about them, it's just that I use the words "Other people have it worse," to convince myself that my feelings aren't worth anything. I use that sentence as an excuse to bottle everything I feel and then never do anything with it again.

It's not good for you to be permanently comparing yourself to others. Just because other people have it worse doesn't mean you can't be sad that your pet died, or that you can't cry when you stub your toe. Just let it all out, you'll feel better afterwards.

I know what you're thinking, me, write two things in one day?!??! It's rather out of the ordinary, isn't it?
