~Cory's POV~

I was doing writing on my top bunk when Ross came in. "That time of day again already?" I asked, wondering where the time had gone.
"Yes."
"No complaints on how moany I am? Holy fuck, what's happening out there? Is it finally world war three?"
"I wish, but no. No world war three. And no complaints. I'd rather have someone who does as they're told and moans while doing it then somebody who does neither. He said as if referring to someone else.
"I thought you said I was the only one here?"
"I found someone new two days ago. A girl. She was perfect for my latest experiment. Aquatic humans. Before I brought her here I believe she mentioned her name. Ashlie I think." Ashlie. The name rings a bell. An old friend. Dark red hair, dark blue jumper, even darker blue shorts. She was ten when I last saw her two years ago. She'd be twelve now, like me. But it's probably just a coincidence. Ashlie's a popular name after all. "Come on! We don't have long until I need to feed the both of you."
"Yes sir. What's it today?"
"Target practice. I want to see your aim with that camera."

~Time skip past a few hours of Cory being amazing and not missing a single shot~

"Well done. Go wait in the dining room. I need to get the girl." Ross said, walking off in the direction of his labs. I did as he told me, and waited to meet the new girl, but all who returned was Ross. No girl in sight.
"Where's Ashlie?"
"In her room, refusing to come. I need you to get her for me. She might listen to someone else who has also been experimented on. Or she'll starve. I don't really care that much, but it'd be in my best interest to keep her alive so I don't waist resources recreating what I have made with her." I didn't need to hear his rant about 'wasting resources'. She might die if I don't she might die!

~Ashlie's POV~

I heard footsteps nearing the door again. He wouldn't leave just to come back two minutes later, so this is somebody else. The door opened slowly, as if trying not to scare me.
"Hello? Ashlie I believe? I came to show you the way to the dining room." It was a boy sounded about my age, twelve. He peeked his head round the corner, only for me to look away, as a bright red light made me jump. I slowly turned back to see the boy who had come. He had dirty blond hair, a grey hoodie, dark grey shorts and a camera instead of eyes and a nose. He really was Cory, but now another experiment like me. I must've been staring at him because he said, "I know it's weird, but long story short? Ross."
"Who's Ross? Cory how are you alive?" I said, my voice hoarce from not speaking in two days.
"Ross is the shithead that did this to us. How do you know my name?"
"Cory... Don't you remember me?"
"Wait, it's not really you, is it?"
"Yeah it's me!" We embraced in a hug. "H-how are you alive? I thought you were murdered at the same time as... Them..."
"No, I wasn't. Ross is the one who killed my parents. He stood there, bloody knife in hand and told me to follow him if... If I wanted to live." Tears started to appear from under the camera.
"His name sounds so innocent for a killer."
"You're telling me. I've been here ever since... Their murder."
"So you've been here alone for two months?"
"With him. Speaking of whom, we should probably go get some food." He said, wiping the salty droplets from his face. I followed him to the dining room where we sat, ate and then chatted, catching up with each other. After a while we noticed that Ross was staring at us. Cory got up and went over to ask Ross something. After a while of what seemed like back and forth arguing, Cory came back over looking happy. "Ash! Guess what!"
"What?"
"We're aloud to room together!"
"Really? That's amazing thank you for sorting that out Cory!" He ran off in the direction of a hallway, beckoning we to follow after him. I quickly chased him, but caught a brief glance at Ross, who was writing notes on his board. Weirdo.
