Sam could feel the smile on her face grow bigger. There were two couches and two chairs; Ricky, Ryan, and Balz were on the couch to the right, Ghost was in a chair also to the right, and Angelo and Chris were on the couch to the left. The "empty chair" was holding a pile of magazines with an ash tray on the top. One by one Chris, Angelo, Ghost, Ricky, Balz, and Ryan got up from their seats. "You must be Sam." Ricky said walking toward her. "Nice to meet you." He extended his arms, welcoming a hug. Sam felt her cheeks flush as she hugged him. "I'm sure you know the rest of us." Ricky said laughing. "Nice to meet you Sam." Ryan said as he gave her a hug. "You too, of course." She said meekly, feeling her cheeks grow hotter and hotter. She went on down the line getting hugs from the rest of the band members when at last she was to Chris. "Hey now," Chris said smiling "don't chicken out now." Sam felt her entire face grow hot, she could tell that her face was beet red by now. "Wouldn't dream of it." Sam smiled meekly and hugged him. Sam's heart was beating in her ears, she couldn't help but notice that he held the hug a little longer than the others had.
"Well don't just stand there, sit down." Angelo said patting the seat in between him and Chris. Sam felt her cheeks flush again before awkwardly sitting down. "So..." Ricky said crossing his ankle over his knee. "Tell us about yourself." "Oh God." Sam said laughing "Told to describe herself, forgets everything about herself. Uh my name is Potato." She laughed again along with everyone else. "Just kidding. Ummm I'm Sam Rose. I'm twenty one, I'm a Halloween baby-" "Really?" Chris asked. "That's pretty fucking badass." Sam smiled, "Thanks. Ummm where was I? Oh yeah ummm I have a paid in full scholarship to one of the best art schools in Michigan. I have a major obsession with bands, pizza, chicken wings, and baseball." "Chicken wings!" Balz yelled. Sam laughed, "Yeah, my fridge at home is filled with beer, some fruits and vegetables, frozen pizza, and frozen chicken wings." "I've never met a girl who was obsessed with chicken wings before." Chris said looking at her. "I kinda like it." He gave her a tiny smile. Sam's heart thumped in her chest. She turned to look at Angelo who was smirking at Chris. "Anything else?" Ricky asked. "Uhhhh shit." Sam laughed and buried her face in her hands. "Can you just ask my questions? I'm going brain dead about myself right now." Ricky laughed "Okay sure." He paused. "Well?" Chris asked laughing. "I forgot like every question we've ever been asked." Ricky said laughing. "Oh God." Chris laughed and flipped his hair out of his eyes. "Damn that's sexy." Sam thought. "Ok I got one!" Ricky yelled. "What are some of your hobbies?" "Are you fucking serious?" Balz asked "Out of all the interviews we've had to do, that's the best you could come up with?" "Its fine." Sam said. "I draw and do other art stuff obviously, but I'm an equestrian, dirt biker, snowmobiler-" "Sounds like you do anything that involves straddling something..." Angelo said with the most innocent look on his face. "I was more focused on the 'other art stuff'." Balz said using his fingers for quotation marks. Everyone laughed. "Not what I meant!!!" Sam yelled but she laughed along with them.
She brushed her bangs out of her face. "Okay, next." She said. "I'm gonna be more in depth and less cliché than Ricky here." Ryan said. "I want to know about the relationship between you and your family. I want to know about your school life. And I want to know about your...boyfriend." Sam could of sworn that when he said that he looked at Chris and smirked. Sam half smiled then looked down at the floor. "I don't have a boyfriend." She sighed. "I've never had one to be honest." "You have to be fucking kidding me!" Chris, Ricky, Angelo, Balz, Ryan, and Ghost said in unison. Sam looked up "what?" "Are you serious?" Angelo asked. Sam nodded still looking at the floor; "Which brings me to Ryan's other questions. I went to a school in a close-knit town where once a clique was formed, it was impossible to join one or even leave one. I don't know whether I was lucky or what but I didn't live in the town. I lived in the sticks of the sticks. So when something happened in the town during like the summer for example, I didn't know about it. Anyway at our school you were either a jock or a hick or a nobody like I was. Look, I could go on forever about our school but long story short I wasn't a seventy five pound, thirsty cheerleader with hair down to her ass." Chris opened his mouth. Sam smiled "At the time. Anyway so at our school I was considered fat, ugly, and basically like I said before a nobody. So guys didn't want anything to do with me romantically at least. I mean most of my friends were guy friends and at some point they had liked me but that was before their balls dropped and raised their standards. My friends were the other outcasts and I'm actually still friends with a lot of them." She laughed "One of them actually has rainbow hair." Ghost laughed. "Really?" "Yeah." Sam whipped out her phone and pulled up a rare picture of Kat. It was from when she first dyed her hair. She was wearing a red and black flannel, a black bandana around her neck, black and white converse that went up to her knees, black skinny jeans, and was holding an Arnold Palmer. In the picture she was standing next to Sam who was also holding an Arnold Palmer. "I see your normal hair color is brown." Ricky said. "Looks good." Sam smiled "Thanks, it means a lot." Ricky smiled "No problem." Sam could of sworn she saw Chris tense up in her peripheral vision. Ricky smiled but at Chris for some reason. "Please continue." "Okay, and it probably didn't help with the whole no boyfriend situation that my parents didn't allow me to have one till I could drive because they didn't want to deal with any 'come and get me he dumped me and left' shit. But because you have eyes, you can tell that my looks already shot that horse in the face. And the fact that if I did bring anyone home, they'd be scared straight meeting my dad. Once again I don't want to go into more detail than that but lets just say the relationship between me and my parents is...not the best." She paused. "Is that enough detail for you?" Everyone was silent for a minute until Ryan broke the silence. "Yeah, it is." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I think I kinda went to far on that one, sorry." Sam half smiled. To be honest spilling her guts out like that made her feel torn up but she didn't like to show it. "No, it's fine." She said.
The room went silent again but was broken by Balz's stomach growling. One by one everyone broke out laughing. "Well it appears I'm hungry." Balz said laughing. Ricky laughed "Chicken wings!" "Yeah let's go get some chicken wings!" Balz yelled. Angelo turned to face her "Sam, would you like to join us?" Sam was shocked. "Really?" Chris nodded. "Then sure!" Sam said smiling. Chris smiled back and Sam could feel her cheeks heat up. "Let's go!" Ricky said jumping up off the couch. Everyone stood up and headed for the door. Chris stood up and looked down at Sam who was still sitting. He smiled and extended his hand out to her. Sam felt her entire face grow hot as she smiled and took his hand as he helped her up. "Such a gentleman." She said smiling. "Always." He said smiling back. She let go of his hand and headed to the bus with Chris following behind her.
