Savannah: I'll Try.
She'll try. The two simple words sting my heart, and I don't even feel anger towards the day she rejected me. I only feel regret. For not trying harder. Why did I join the Populars? To get Savannah's attention? Well, I got it. I burry my head in my hands. Now she's being bullied, and I'm too much of a fudging wimp to say anything. I raise my head. I'm going to change that.

I am entering school, when I see Savannah shoved against a locker. Erica and Rachel are bitching to her about giving them more money. I head towards the scene. When I get there, Savannah's eyes lock with mine. After a quick moment, I shake off the warm feeling and break eye contact. I grab the girls by their shirt collars and tug them away from Savannah. They twist around.
"What are you two doing?" I ask sternly. Erica's eyes widen. Rachel attempts to fix her hair. She pouts.
"Oh Preston, you're sooo ho-" I hold up my hand angrily.
"Don't even try."
"But Preston, you ar-" I give her small shove backwards.
"Get away from me, you disgusting cactus!" I growl. Erica squirms away and races after Rachel.
Savannah looks at me, bewildered.
"You saved me, again," she whispers.
"I'll always be there when you need saving," I vow. She smiles whole-heartedly.
"I forgive you." her words cause my heart to skip a beat. She forgives me.
... (Time skip to Lunch)
As I'm buying my food, an announcement comes on.
"Hello students of Oakwood High, up on the stage we are going to do some fun karaoke!" a person begins. "Who's up first?" Erica raises her hand.
"Erica! What song would you like to sing?" Erica smirks to the crowd.
"Beez in the Trap by Nicki Minaj." Groans of annoyance fill the air.
... (TIME SKIP TO AFTER TERRIBLE SINGER ERICA)
"Who's next?" A hand goes up. Blue nailpolish. Savannah?
"Hello Savannah! What would you like to sing for us today?"
"People Like Us, by Kelly Clarkson," she answers as she gets onto the stage. The woman grins.
"What a great choice!" I take my lunch and sit down with Rob without thinking. He turns to me.
"Why aren't you sitting with the Populars?"
"They aren't real friends, they're messed up torches," I say. Rob grins.
"Welcome back, bud."
"Thanks."
Savannah says as the intro plays,
"This song is for someone, you know who you are. You saved my life, and I think People Like Us should stick together." she smiles at me. The intro ends, and Savannah begins singing.
