On my way back from the café, I am crossing the road.
A car is speeding towards me.
I don't realize, as I hum to the song playing on my iPod. My ear buds are blocking out other noises.
A teenage boy notices me, and the car coming my way.
"Look out!" he shouts, beginning to run.
But I don't hear his worried voice, or his frantic footsteps.
I don't notice him, until he pushes me out of the way.
Until he saves me.
I look up, surprised.
"What happened?!?" I ask.
"A car was about to hit you."
"You saved me," I whisper.
"I did."
