5. dinner party

   "how do i look?"

    sadie twirled around with a nervous smile on her face.

   "beautiful" i smiled. leaning my head on the doorway.

   "millie you have to show me yours!" she excitedly pleaded. clasping her hands together.

   "fine" i rolled my eyes. stepping out from behind the doorway i put my arms to my side, showcasing the right jean skirt and white blouse i picked out.

   "wow" sadie gawked, "you look so much better than me."

   "oh hush, we're gonna be late lets go" i chuckled leaning over and grabbing sadie's hand as i pulled her out of the room.

   "do you think caleb will like it?"

   "if he doesn't like i'd be very surprised" i reassured her.

   stepping off the last step we followed the pebbled path that lead to the wooden trail. the walk was only two minutes since we were going down to the vineyard, where the boys are staying.

    sadie's freckles poked through her layers of makeup. the small sunburn on her cheeks barley noticeable under her blush.

   "you look pretty sadie, really pretty" i leaned into her side, still holding her hand.

   the pinky orange sunset still visible over the tree line. i bet if we were at the beach the water would look beautiful.

    "how much do you wanna bet they forgot about the dinner party" sadie snickered.

   "how much do you wanna bet they remembered but burnt the food?"

sadie could barley contain her laughs. by the time we knocked on the wooden door she was clutching her side in laughter.

"hi millie! hey sadie-" caleb stood in the doorway with a confused look, "is she okay?"

"she's fine don't worry about her, are we eating inside or outside?" sadie muffled her laughs behind the palm of her hand. her cheeks turning even pinker at the sight of caleb.

"inside" he stepped back into the house leaving room for sadie and i to walk in.

"wow" sadie giggled, "it's cleaner than i thought i'd be."

we followed caleb into the dining room which was just past the stairway. everyone was already sitting down.

"hey millie!" romeo blurted out. choking on his water.

sadie sat down at the empty chair beside caleb. i scanned my eyes for the other spot which was placed beside finn, on the other side of the table.

i turned to sadie as i walked over to the empty chair, her face turned bright red as she held in even more laughs than before.
