The constant thuds of her wooden floor were endless and it annoyed her, already regretting purchasing the house she bought that was closest to where she worked. It weren't the floors fault for being annoying, it was because her heels were clicking. She wasn't like this everyday: waking up 40 minutes before she had to go to work, eating breakfast like a caveman, hurriedly brushing through her wet locks with her fingers after shower. Waking up 40 minutes before work started in New York City isn't the best idea to say the least.
She sprinted towards her car and it roared to life. She drove like a madman, hoping she won't be pulled over by the cops for the umpteenth time. When traffic was, unsurprisingly, existent on her way to work, she groaned internally and huffed. She couldn't wait to sit on her desk and avoid her boss all day, but at this time around, she knew she wouldn't be able to. It was her fault for finishing the whole Teen Wolf season up until 4 AM; not that she would confess that out loud.
She parked her car on the valet parking, and tipped the man. She glanced at her wristwatch and it read 8:05. Her eyes widened. She sighed, she knew she has to accept the fact she's late and she'll be bothered by her boss again.
"To hell with it", she thought "Just another boring day, on a boring year, doing boring work" as she entered the building.
Little did she know that fate has another plan in mind.
