I set the slice of pizza down on the plate in front of me, and I listened. I couldn't hear anything unusual now, but maybe it was because some of my friends were chit chatting. All of which is good and all, but I thought I heard something...
"Jennifer? Are you okay?"
"Yes, why?"
"You look like you're drafting off. Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm–
Fine," I nearly mumbled under my breath.
The lights flickered out, and the music stopped playing. It was dead silent, and we were sitting in the dark.
