Lunch.
Throughout the whole day, I've been talking to no one. People have been staring while I was studying. I don't understand how people think I don't know they are talking about me when they talk so loud. I can't tell if they want me to hear them or not.
I look around for an empty table and spotted one in the corner. Perfect. I walk towards the table with my lunch bag and pulled out a chair to sit on. I zipped open the bag and pulled out my container of salad. I hear a chair scraping the ground and being pulled out in front of me so I look up. I see a blonde haired girl carrying a pink lunch bag as she sat down in the chair. "Hi!" She said in a really high voice.
"Hi?"
She opened her bag and pulled out a ham sandwich. "I hope you don't mind if I sit here, the cheerleaders are being so mean so I'm not going to sit with them again."
So she's a cheerleader. I hope she isn't the stereotypical ones that act like a bítch. My school may be very high in maturity but we still have those kinds of girls. At first, they tried to be friends with me but I didn't like how they chose their lifestyle so I just said I wasn't interested. Of course, they were offended so they talked trash about me through the whole year. That's why I like to let people know, if you are talking behind my back, you're in a real good position to kiss my ass.
We both started to eat our food while she kept talking about random things. I didn't mind it though, the loneliness was really boring me.
All of a sudden, there is a wave of people whispering so I look towards what they're looking at. A blondish haired boy with a girl that is literally wearing a piece of thread is clinging on to him. I can feel the power radiating off him as all the girls stare at him with lust in their eyes.
"And who might this be?" I ask Sonny, the girl who is sitting in front of me.
"The one and only Tanner Braungardt. He is the most popular and hottest guy in school. He has three million subscribers on youtube but in real life, he lives differently. It's like he lives two lives. One is a typical bad boy, and the other as a kid friendly YouTuber."
"Typical bad boy, my butt."
Tanner walked down the center of the lunch tables and winked at a couple girls which made the faint. I rolled my eyes again for the second time and I continued eating my salad and felt someone behind me. People whispered even louder as I dropped my fork, making a loud clang.
I stood up and turned around to face Mr. Bad Boy and his slutty sidekick.
I waited for him to talk as he eyed me up and down. "You're in my seat, get out."
How dare he talked to me like that! This guy definitely has something stuck up his áss. I turned back around and sat back in my seat, picking up my fork and stabbed a piece of lettuce.
"I said get out," he grumbled.
"Elody, let's just go. Let's not start something," Sonny whispered. I can tell she was really nervous. I could even see her hands shaking on her lap.
I took a deep breath as I picked up my lunch. I started to walk away with Sonny to another empty table when I heard Tanner say something, "Yeah, run away little girl."
I stopped walking as I clenched my fists. Sonny noticed as her eyes widened and she pulled me away.
"Let me go, I just want to dump my salad on he's stupid head," I mumbled.
"Nope, not letting you do that. Pretty much social suicide."
I sighed, she was right. We walked to another table and continued eating our food. Sonny continued talking like nothing happened while I stole glances at Tanner. What did people even see in him? He's a total jerk.
"So El, there is a party hosted by a guy named Travis. You should totally come with me!"
"Eh, not my scene."
"Please? I promise you Travis holds the coolest parties."
I think for a moment. I guess I do need to let loose sometimes. After all, I could use a drink. "Fine, I'll go but I'm not wearing a dress or something."
"Yay! I can't wait. I'll be at your house at 6 so you can help me get ready."
