(A/N: So I was reading "Black Ice" by @Brionia and found a conversation in the comments about a new 'ship'. Trico. This is a pairing of Nico di Angelo and a .... tree. So its not romantic but a friendship. Spoilers for Gaurdians of the Galaxy. So here goes the weirdest thing ill ever write.)
When Groot exploded while protecting the team, a tiny twig was blasted out of the atmosphere and into space. For quite some time this twig floated around before, somehow surviving blasting through Earth's atmosphere, landing in the forest at 'Camp Half-Blood'. This twig stayed here for days before growing into a baby Groot. Now for everyone's favorite Demi-god to show up. Oh, look, here he comes.
Nico was hiding in the forest from the Apollo cabin, that was so despretly trying to cheer his grumpy butt up, sitting against a tree. Enjoying the silence, Nico sensed a presence near his hiding spot. Suddenly a small tree-like creature crawled into his lap and started poking at his jacket. Nico looked at the small tree with a small smile.(A/N: Omigods human emotion) "Groot" the creature squeaked." umm... I'm Nico. What are you exactly?" Nico asked tickling Groot. "Groot" the alien responded squirming. "Can you say anything else than 'Groot' " Nico asked his new aquaintince . "Groot" "I'll take that as a no" Nico said standing up while holding Groot. "Well I guess we can hide out in my cabin. You're a lot more interesting than the random dead animals I raise" Nico said setting Groot on his shoulder.
It was the start of a beautiful friendship.
