Chapter 6

CAMERONS POV

I have to tell her. I can't go through with this pain in my chest from guilt. Every time I see her, that day comes back. That day. No I can't tell her. She will hate me forever and I would never be able to live with myself if she wasn't happy.

AVAS POV

"Hey, Wait up Cam!" I said trying to catch up with Cameron in the hallway. "Uh-Uhm hey Ava." He replied, a crooked smile on his face.

I tried holding his hand, but he just pulled away.

"Ava I'm sorry, I have to go. I'll- uh bye." Cameron said heading through the front doors of the school. He didn't call me Ava Gray.

I decided to go over to Lilly's house since I haven't talked to her in a while and I wanted to tell her about Camerons strange behavior for the past few days.

"Hey Lil." I said sitting down on her bed. "Ava I haven't talked to you in like a week! I'm so glad your here. What have you been doing with Cameron that is so important that you can't hang out with your best friend once in a while?" Lilly said while chuckling.

"Actually that's what I came here to talk to you about. It's about how Cameron has been acting lately. I mean we have been dating for about three and a half weeks now and out of nowhere he just stopped letting me hug him, and he doesn't tell me why he can't hang out that day. It just makes me a little bit hurt that he doesn't trust me about what he is doing." I told Lilly.

Lilly's eyes grew wide, like she was shocked at what I had just said to her. "Uh-May-maybe he is just really busy." She replied scratching the back of her neck and looking down at the ground. "I don't know. All he really does is make vines and talk to people. I don't see why he would be busy." I said thinking about the other things Cameron does.

"Ava, there is something I need to tel-" Lilly tried to say, when her mom interrupted us. "Girls would you like something to eat?" She asked. "I'm fine, thank you." I replied smiling at her mother, but wanting to know what Lilly was about to say.

"So what were you saying?" I asked Lilly. "Oh Uhm nothing. No need to worry about it." She replied, relief sweeping over her face. "No what were you going to say?!?" I asked getting frustrated now. "Really Ava it's nothing! Just calm down!" She replied.

"I think it's best if you leave Ava." She said suddenly. "If that's what you want then okay, I'll go." I said trying my best not to look hurt. I went back home, put on my pink sweatpants and decided to watch a movie, but I eventually felt myself falling asleep.

CAMERONS POV

"Cameron quit! Stop, I mean it!" I hear a loud voice yet in a soft tone. It's her voice. The girl who I have loved since the day I set my eyes on her. The way her brunette twirls in her fingers when she gets nervous. The way her voice transforms from soft to a squeak when I tickle her. The way she looks down at herself like she doesn't know she is beautiful. Everything about her is amazing.

I woke up from the dream. The dream of her. How they make me wake up with my heart pounding through my chest, and my heart collapsing inside.

I try so hard to forget that day. The day everything went wrong. The way I acted. How I should've stayed by her side the entire time. My anger. My depression. It broke me.

That's why I need to stay away from Ava.
