Chapter 12

I frantically looked around, feeling empty and alone in the large clearing, tall dark trees towering above me.

"R-Robert?!" I spun in a circle, desperately looking for the man who brought me here. Wherever here was.

His deep voice sounded behind me, directly whispering into my ear, "I'm here..." I felt his large hands caress my waist, holding me close.

My heart skipped a beat, eyes wider than they already were. "R-Robert..." I wanted so badly to sink into his embrace, let his large arms encircle me and keep me safe...

I ripped away from him, growling out. "What was that?! Where the hell are we?!"

His smile shouldn't have shocked me by now but it did, standing in the middle of no where, everything dark except a slight glowing aura around him, I was creeped out and confused.

"Easy love. I brought you were you asked." he shoves his hands into his pockets, his eyes trained on me.

"Really?! Hmm, that's funny, cus I don't see my sister anywhere!" I ran my hands through my hair, becoming stressed and irritated.

"Will you relax? I simply took you through The Portal."

I flinched, glaring at him, "The what?"

"Please tell me you know what a portal is?"

"Of course I do!" I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well, The Portal is a sacred link between the human Earth Plane, and The Kita Pasaulis, or Other World."

I frowned, eyebrows furrowing, "Other World?"

He grinned and took my hand, leading me away from the dark cropping of trees, "Come on, it's easier to show you."

I reluctantly held his hand, a sigh escaping my lips. He better be telling the truth and not bullshitting me. I'll kill that bastard if I have too. Ok, maybe that was a lie...I mean, it was pretty hard to kill someone you had sex with a day before. Expecially if it was intimate...

Damnit why did I keep thinking like this?! Ok, focus, focus on the goal. Sister, sister sister sister sister. That's why I'm here. Remember.

I nodded silently to myself and followed Robert. Before I knew it, we were standing at the gate to a small town. And I mean, it was an old-school town too, the ones you hear about in all the old vampire romance stories. Like the Victorian age, I began to wonder if this place had electricity.

"This is New Yorthern Town." Robert gestured to the town sight and hollered at the guards manning the gate. They sat on two towers on either side of the opening to New Yorthern. "Hey! It's Robert! The Light Seer! Open the gates!"

I noticed immediately the change in the guards. They both smiled and yelled a hello, pulling a long tin lever that lowered a tall wooden bridge to walk across.

That's when my brain kicked in, "Wait, what's a Light Seer?"

Robert turned his head back over his shoulder to smirk at me, "Someone who can create portals between planes. There are only two in the universe."

I blinked at his words, confused and tired, but there would be many things I'd need to learn, this was only the beginning.
