Darkness awaited me when my eyes opened, but then again, why wouldnt it? There was something rough and course slipped over my head, obscurring my vision. I tried to move my arms to take away the uncomfortable blockage but found my hands and legs unmobile. My tongue felt swollen and my mouth was dry, almost like it was filled with cotton.

Voices could be heard, soft, whispering almost, but deep all the same. Men. Anger boiled in my stomach and I had a feeling my face turned red. God the audacity of some people! What the hell did I do to be kidnapped and roughed up then left in the cold?! Gee...it was cold. And yet in the midst of all the cold and darkness and fear, I felt a warm, strong hand on my shoulder, and for a moment, I thought it might be Robert.

"Rrrbrrt?" My voice came out harsh and scratchy and I didnt like the deep chuckle that followed, it was so not Robert.

Suddenly the sack over my head was taken away with a loud whooshing sound and I blinked rapidly at the blinding light that greeted my dilating eyes. I couldnt see a thing, black blinking dots covered my sight.

"Well well well, sleeping beauty finally awakens!" The man's voice was deep and practically filled with testosterone, spitting out manliness in the most repulsive way possible.

I coughed and closed my eyes, trying to regain some vision so I could stare at my captor. While I tried my best to see two inches in front of me, I found my voice retort back. "Who..the hell...cursed me...anyway?"

I groaned, feeling a sharp pain stab into my lower back. I was tied to a rotting wooden chair. Great, this day was going perfectly! Finally I could see, and my eyes widened at the sight before me: I was right, it was definitely a man, and what a man he was! Wavy black hair hung near his deep green eyes, he was so close I could see the specks of gold sprinkled in his forest irises. He didnt wear a shirt and I honestly didnt mind, his tattooed arms and chest looked lean and muscular and I couldnt believe I was actually drooling over my kidnapper! His baggy pants hung low on his waist, hung up only by a silver chain. His jaw was very strong and defined, cheeks hollowed and nose sharp. He looked like the perfect specimen bad boy. Wait. What did he want with me?

Still clad in my red v-neck and faded jeans, I'm sure I looked like a complete mess, yet he just stood there in the same position, not moving, not even blinking, staring at me. I felt my cheeks flush and I narrowed my eyes, letting out a defensive growl, "What do you want with me...Why am I here?!"

A smirk slowly spread across his thin lips, distracting my original train of thought. "Dont worry precious little dragon tamer." His voice was smooth and in control, the exact opposite of mine.

"Grr..." I coughed suddenly, throat seizing up at the dryness. I was surprised to see him frown and hold out a glass of water for me. I stared at him, a dumb expression plastered to my face. Was he serious?

He finally caught on to why I couldnt grab the glass and laughed almost kindly. Oh man, this guy was all kinds of trouble. He raised the tip of the cup to my lips and tilted it back slowly. My eyes closed as I gulped down the cold liquid, the feeling of surging pain being quenched by a cool light helped boost my confidence some and I took the remaining water in my mouth to spit straight into his beautiful face. He jumped back, slightly startled and wiping his eyes of water droplets.

"Now thats not very nice, I try to help you and you repay me by acting so disrespectful?" He pouted and my eyelids fluttered.

"H-Help me?! You kidnapped me! Last time I checked that was not a form of helping!!" My anger almost boiled over, "Why am I here?! Tell me already!"

The man smiled, showing a full row of bright straight teeth. "Easy tiger, or are you just a helpless little kitten in need of another nap?" His index finger found it's way under my chin and pointed my head up to him painfully.

"Agh-" I groaned and shut one eye, the blinding light hanging from the ceiling seemed to bright and too close. "Shut up. You know nothing about me!"

He smirked again, his teeth seeming slightly sharper than before. "I know more about you than you think..."

At this my eyes widened, "What...do you mean...I've never seen you before in my life..."

"Oh, but I've seen you. Plenty of times."

I flinched...what exactly did that mean...

He leaned closer, lips brushing against the tip of my ear. I yanked my head away and he chuckled, "I'd like to tell you why you're here. I'd also like for you to be able to find your sister, but I cant let you do that. See, your mother and father were very popular here in our world. Once they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, everyone wanted to get their hands on her. Who knew she'd be so powerful?"

My body began shaking at all this new and confusing information, "W-What?! H-How-"

He smiled softly, not his usual smirk. "Something...running through your veins-" He ran a finger up my arm slowly, causing goosebumps to appear, "-Is very special and very powerful and you wouldnt believe the things people would do to get a hand on you, what they did to capture your sister..."

I shut my eyes tightly, fighting back tears. "I-...I had no idea...I-I cant..."

"I know, it must be difficult learning all this after living in your perfect little normal world, only to hear how unnormal you actually are..." His eyes narrowed harshly, as if he could actually be jealous.

"You dont even know how lucky you are...you had a mother, a father, a house, a home, friends, everyone to like you, everyone to want you, you never spent one moment alone! It isnt possible! You had someone there, always, whether you realized it or not..."

"Y-You're wrong...you have no idea...how lonely it gets in the dark..." I choked up.

He scoffed and rolled his eyes, grabbing my chin roughly, "No. You have no idea how comforting the dark is."
