"love your parents. we are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old"
A week goes by and I actually have a good times with my parents. They are already exploring the town by themselves at morning till afternoon because I have to go to work and visit Bryan as well.
We usually hang out by the evening until night. Theodore take mum to that Italian Restaurant and I take dad to go sight seeing and finally cooked dinner for him. I'm not a great cooker but he likes my food!
I feel that mum is already liking Theodore and I don't know if this is a bad thing or a good thing. Until one evening she persuaded me to go shopping with her while my dad meet with his old colleagues.
"Soooo.. Theodore is really nice darling"
"He sure is mum"
"Why aren't you two dating yet?"
"Muum" I just shake my head in embarrassment. How come my mother just ask me that! What am I going to tell her?
"Well I'm just asking my love" she shrugged and start looking at the dress in the mannequin.
"Mum we can't date. I mean. Oh god I don't know what to do mum"
"Oh dear. What's wrong?"
"Mum he's.. he's.."
"He's what darling?"
"He is Bryan's big brother" I hang my head down in shame. I'm not ready to be judged by my mum yet.
"Oh Coraline"
"What is it mum? Oh God I don't know.."
"Calm down darling. It's not your fault. We can't choose who we fall in love with"
"But mum I don't.."
"Oh don't give me that 'I don't love him' crap because I know you fancy him dear. And from what I can see , he fancies you too"
"Really mum? How did you know?"
"Darling. I'm married for 6 times already. I know all about men. And how they behave when they're in love with a woman. And let me tell you this. That boy is hopelessly in love with you"
I stunned by mum's word. Does Theodore really loves me? Truth is he really is a sweetheart and he treat me nicely.
"But what about.."
"Darling let your heart decided. But let me just tell you this. If you love two people at once, chose the second. Because if you really love the first you wouldn't fall in love with the second man"
"Wow"
"Yes darling. It's that simple. Don't make such a big deal out of a simplest thing"
"Okay mum. I'll try to listen to my heart"
"That's my girl" she kissed the top of my head and I almost burst in tears. Mum haven't kissed my head since I was a kid. And now she's doing it makes me just wanna hug her tightly and crying my heart out.
"Ohh my sweet darling. Don't cry. Mummy's here for you" she hugged me and I hugged her back.
"I love you mum"
"I love you too Cora"

After shopping groceries too we came back to my apartment and dad is already there watching tv.
"Hey sweetheart"
"Hi daddy" I put the groceries at the kitchen and get back to tv room so I can hug him. After that mum's call me so I can help her in the kitchen.
"Let's make beef lasagna like the one from that Italian restaurant! Your dad favorites food is lasagna!"
"Really? Well let's make it"
We start getting busy at the kitchen and I didn't even know that Theodore is coming and he and my dad sitting in the tv room with tension that can be cut with the knife.
After makes a bowl of fruit salad I set the bowl at the dining table and turn back to reach the mashed potatoes that's when I see Theodore.
"Theo!"
He looks up from tv and wave his hand at me, smile brightly when he sees my face.
"Are you been here long?"
After put the mashed potatoes I go to see him but my dad cuts me off.
"He just arrived dear. Why don't you go help your mum at kitchen?"
"But I'm already finish my chores dad" I smiled at him and hug Theodore that cause my dad to scoffed and turn his head away from us.
"Sorry about that" I mouthed to him.
"It's alright. Go help your mum" he mouthed back.
"Okay"
"Dinners ready folks!" Mum's happy voice call us from the dining room.
"Thank Heavens" dad got up and walk to the table. Theo got up too and we both get to the table as well.
Dad and mum sit side by side and me and Theodore.
"Mm I've forgot how great your lasagna is Ellie"
"Thank you Mark"
"Daddy's right mum. This is absolutely delicious"
"That's true Ellie. This lasagna is to die for"
"Oh you're both too kind. Thank you my dears"
We continue eating and after that mum asked me to open a bottle of champagne that we bought earlier. After open it I place it at a table and everybody start fill in their glasses.
"This dinner is the best Ellie. You should cook more often"
"Oh Mark" my mum blushed and I gobsmacked at her reaction. Could it be that my mum and dad are coming back in relationship again? Whatever that is seems like they started fancying each other all over again.
"Yeah mum. You should eat often with dad. After all it doesn't work anymore with Larry right?"
But she seems didn't hear my words. They both look at each other deeply and I feel happy inside. Hopefully God will hear my prayer and unite them once more.
"Will you Ellie?"
"Of course I will Mark"
My dad kiss my mum's hand and my mum's blushed deep like a teenager in love. Me and Theodore sharing a smile at the sight in front of us.
If only we were that lucky.
