Chapter Twenty-Three:

The three of us grab our packet and head down one of the paths. Kyungsoo and Zitao chat among themselves as I stare up at the clouds. I don't want to do this or be here at the campsite anymore. This is so boring. It wouldn't be if Minho and I were together.

"So, how has you day been so far?" Zitao nervously asks.

"It's been alright. How about yours?"

He whispers something to Kyungsoo. "He says it's been fine."

"How about you, Kyungsoo?"

"It's been fine as well." It goes silent between us again.

I think Ms. Chai just put the three most awkward people in a group together. Zitao isn't even awkward he just doesn't know Korean that well! This is going to be difficult.

Kyungsoo, Zitao and I stroll through the forest not talking to each other. Every time I mention something that we could use for the project, Kyungsoo would have to explain it to the Chinese exchange student. It is quite cute how confused he is.

"We can use that bunny." I point out the rabbit hopping by. Kyungsoo and Zitao agree with it and we all take a photo of the tiny brown bunny.

We continue to walk through the forest. "So, why are you with us?" Kyungsoo wonders.

"I was told to join you guys," I say. I look at them confused because they were there when I was assigned to this group.

"Jia, I want you to know that Zitao and I don't believe in those stupid rumors."

"That's good to know."

"And we also know that you really like Mino."

"How?" I blush.

"It's written all over your face and your actions," Kyungsoo says.

"We also over heard you on the bus with Jihoon," Zitao says.

Their words don't help with the blush on my face. "W-Where are you going with this?" I ask.

"We saw Bada and him back there behind those bushes, go talk to them," Zitao says. "We'll deal with Bada if it means that you and Minho get together."

I stare at them in shock. "What?" They look at me.

I continue to stare at them. "You're not kidding? They're actually behind those bushes." They nod their heads. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! Go on. Once you somehow manage to switch partners, send Bada over to us." They push me towards the bush line they're talking about.

I have to do this now before it's too late. I walk around the bushes and see Bada and Minho extremely close together. I begin to tremble and I sweat as I stare at them.

Minho and Bada close the distance between each other and they kiss. It is as if time slows down and now I'm just watching them make out.

I knew it. He never liked me at all. I feel a tear slip from my eyes as I bite my lip.

"I thought you liked me," I say. I have no idea why I said that, but I did and I don't regret it.

Minho pushes Bada off of him and stares at me. "Jia this isn't what it looks like," he says.

"D-Don't talk to me," I mumble. I run away from the two of them. I end up running off of the path but I don't care at all. I take a break and rest up against a tree.

"Why am I so stupid?" I groan. I slide down the tree and run my hands through my hair. "I fall for people too easily." I continue to cry over what I've seen.

I should've listen to Kyung-oppa, Ji-ho-oppa and Jihoon when they told me about him. No matter what he was going to hurt me. I'm such an idiot. I shouldn't have fallen for such a player! I'm so foolish! I grab my hair in frustration.

I move my hands from my hair to my face. I cover my face as tears continue to spill from my eyes. I feel a pair of arms wrap around me. I know who it is. I need him to leave.

"G-go away," I stutter.

"Jia, just talk to me, please," he says.

"I-I don't want to t-talk to you," I cry. I want to hug him back so much, but I shouldn't. It's easier if we stop talking to one another.

"Then don't talk and just listen to me," Minho says. I stay quiet and just listen to him. "What you saw back there with Bada means nothing to me. She forced me to kiss her." He tightens his hold on me. "Bada has this strange idea that I like her, but I don't. She means absolutely nothing to me."

"I don't believe you. You kissed her. You kissed her!" I begin to beat on his chest like one of those cliché moments in a drama. "Why would you do that? I like you so much!" I continue to pound on his chest.

"What?" He ask. "What did you just say?"

I gulp when I realize what I just said. I quickly stand up and turn away from him. I feel my face heat up. Good job! I blew it! Minho is going to laugh at me. I should just save myself from the embarrassment and walk away. I begin to walk away from him, but he grabs my arm and turns me around.

"Jia, I have to tell you something really important." He pulls me closer to him. "Please just let me tell you this."

His face gets closer to mine, so mine gets even warmer and redder. I feel my heart pick up. Minho moves his hand down to mine and grabs it. My chocolate brown eyes glance at our hands and then back at him. I just stare at his face wondering what he wants to tell me.
