Unexpected Truth
Seth and I walked into the school, hand in hand, ignoring the ugly comments. My immunity to words' hurt had become increasingly high. Their words flew in one ear and out the other. I didn't need any of them because I had Seth. Little did they know, they were not perfect, but I was...at least in appearance.
Our table was an open greeting to the thousands of eyes that glued themselves to us. Seth's hand found its way to my chin, pulling my face to his. I crushed my lips against his, feeling suddenly anxious to show everyone to back off.
When he pulled away he began laughing at me, kissing the tip of my nose. The lights around us flickered, a few humans screamed, and suddenly a very tall vampire stood in front of us.
He looked no older than eighteen. His jet black hair shagged down to his chin in messy curls, but still looked rather good. He stood at a masculine 6'2. His skin was like ours, beautiful and porcelain. But his eyes were contrasting: a brilliant light purple, tending toward the shade of mauve. They seemed to light up everything around him.
A small girl materialized beside him. Her eyes matched his in brilliance, but their colour was a cerulean blue that mesmerized me. Her hair fell in perfect ringlets of gold, reminding me somewhat of Shirley Temple's younger movies. She had a dark brown beauty mark on her right eye, making her that much more beautiful. She stood at a very petite height of 5'2, glaring up at the taller man.
Her tiny hand flashed to his wrist, slapping on a metal wristband. The lights stopped flickering and the taller vampire laughed nervously.
"I'm Anthony," the male said. His voice was awkwardly low for a teenaged boy.
"I'm Seth, this is my counterpart Claire."
Anthony wrapped his arm around the tiny girl. "This is Véronique, my counterpart."
The tiny girl waved at us from beneath Anthony.
"Why did you guys' come here?" Seth wondered.
"We needed to drift closer to a large coven. It's smarter."
Seth nodded. "Well, we have a rather large wolf population."
Anthony seemed to understand. "That's fine. I wouldn't mind helping out in any way I could if I gained acceptance into a new coven."
I smiled up at him. "That's understandable. I'm sure you're going to be fine here. How old are you guys playing?"
Véronique smiled beautifully. "I'm sixteen and Anthony is eighteen. No playing." She had a tiny voice that was intertwining with a French twinge.
"How long have the two of you been together?"
Her smile widened and tiny dimples appeared at the creases of her mouth. "Three years in two weeks."
I felt happy for her. "How long have you...?"
Her smiled turned down at corners, her face hardening. "Only a few months, but I'm okay."
She was new? She seemed even more eloquent than I did, which made me feel weird in her presence. "Wow..."
The bell rang. It turned out that Véronique had first period with and me. She sat rather close, making everyone stare at her beauty. She was exquisite.
Her pale skin went perfectly with her light hair and blue eyes. She looked shyly at the boys who kept staring at her. Seth froze the time, coming to stand in front of my desk.
