No one ever knows why girls give into the cliches. There's the girls who like the jocks, the girls who like the good looking guys, and the girls who like the bad boys. Y/n was no exception, and the boy she was pinning for was almost the text book definition of a bad guy. I mean, he was banned from competitive play because of his toxicity.
They played league with each other on and off, Y/n not always able to deal with him being overly toxic attitude. Sure, he was a cool cute, and damn cute too, but everyone has their faults. Y/n's was falling for the danish mid laner. But, she couldn't help herself, the heart wants what it wants, what it yearns for.
They were currently in queue for a game, and just hanging out in a voice chat. Y/n didn't have to worry about him streaming, because he never did anymore. However, she did have to worry about the C9 household popping in and trolling her. Mainly thought it was just Sneaky accusing her of 'stealing his man.'
The queue popped, filling the two to their desired role. Jensen in the mid lane, obviously, and Y/n in the jungle.
"Camp mid?" He asked, his accent lacing into his words. He smirked, unbeknownst to the h/c girl. She shook her head, laughing to herself.
"Only if you're doing good." She told him, stifling a laugh.
They both got into game, she had decided to play Sejuani, while Jensen was on Orianna. They were on red side and Y/n decided to start blue. She got a leash from the support and AD Carry, and didn't smite the buff. She went over to her red, because she didn't want that to be countered jungled. She then went to her cruggs, taking them before going for a gank top lane. They made short work of the enemy Darius, she gave the kill over to the top laner and went to back. She got her upgraded jungle item and then hunters potion. She went back to the blue side of her jungle, grabbing her wolves and her group. Blue was back up at this point,
"You want blue, then gank mid?" She asked Jensen, seeing as he had pushed into mid lane.
"Yeah, that's fine." He told her, grinning. She lowered blue as Jensen roamed over, and killed it off. The duo made their way mid, and she dashed into the enemy Viktor. Jensen poppers his combo, securing the kill. She entered the enemies jungle, taking his Red before backing.
She finished her jungle item, and the went onto her next, making sure to build Sejuani tanky. She took the rest of her jungle before going bot to help gank. However, her AD Carry and her support didn't follow her up. They stayed behind, even though they could've easily won the fight. Y/n ended up dying, a groan coming out of her mouth.
"Wow.. our jungler sucks. Reported." Jensen snickered, laughing at her. She sighed, slightly hurt my his comment. She didn't say it but, she definitely felt bad.
"Well not everyone can be as good as a semi pro player." She told him, her voice slightly on edge. Jensen could sense the sudden change, but didn't push it. He continued to push lane, hitting the turret. Y/n went mid and took it down with him, before going back into the jungle. She took the enemy teams red side jungle, before backing again for yet another item purchase.
A few minutes later, an team fight erupted. Y/n was leading the pack, tanking most of the damage the enemy team offered. It was a 3 for one trade, Y/n being the only one to die.
Midlaner: our jungler is feeding report
Y/u/n: shut the fuck up
Peng Yiliang: toooxic in the chat bois
"Y/n?" Jensen called as he heard nothing but silence. He looked over to discord, which was displayed on his other monitor and saw that Y/n was muted.
"Y/n?" He tried again, his voice much softer, more delicate sounding. There was still no reply. Jensen sighed,
"Look, y/n I'm sorry. I was just kidding, your in masters for a reason, okay?" He told her, trying to comfort her. She finally unmuted, her voice resonating through the Dane's headset.
"You're a real dick sometimes, Jensen. Why do good girls like bad guys, why do I like you?" Y/n rambled, before realizing what she had said.
"Shit." The only noise following her comment was one of someone leaving the voice channel. The game was still going, but they both might as well have been intentionally feeding. They forgot about the game completely and were instead invested in each other's emotions.
Y/n eventually went back to the game, ignoring the rapid pings and noises she heard from discord. She didn't want to see what he had to say, especially after earlier. She had made a total fool of herself in his eyes. She didn't want to see the rejection she felt she was going to face.
On the other hand, Jensen's fingers moved quicker than a cheetah catching its prey. He was shocked. He didn't know what to say at first, but by the time he had a reply for her she had already departed. His fingers furiously scanned the keyboard, he had to have sent at least 10 messages. He almost forgot he was in a league game when he saw it on the computer. But by the time they got there, his team had surrendered since he was gone for so long.
He ran a hand through his hair, scanned over the messages and his fingers trembled slightly.
C9Jensen: Y/n!
C9Jensen: y/n!?
C9Jensen: Y/n..
C9Jensen: y/n.. come on you can't just leave after that..
C9Jensen: we need to talk, please answer me.
C9Jensen: I'm sorry if I upset you..
C9Jensen: but please answer me.
C9Jensen: y/n.
Y/u/n: what? what do we have to talk about, Jensen?
Y/u/n: I over reacted, that's all. disregard anything I said because it wasn't true.
C9Jensen: Y/n, I'm not stupid. I know how you feel, stop trying to be defensive and let me talk, okay?
Jensen sighed, she was making this so much more difficult than it needed to be. He already knew what he was gonna say, she just had to have the right response. His hands were still shaking as he took a deep breathe. He read the words in front of him, his eyes dancing over each letter as if they were fake.
Y/u/n: what is there to talk about?
Y/n sighed, she was preparing herself for his rejection. Maybe after he rejects her, she can go back to fully focusing on her school work at UCLA. She was definitely on the defensive, as Jensen had said to her. She figured that she might as well see what he had to say, as she waited for the 'C9Jensen is typing.." to go away.
Y/u/n: what is there to talk about?
C9Jensen: the fact that I'm taking you to dinner tomorrow at 6 pm, right after scrims. that's what 🤓
