"I'll always love you"

(Dan's p.o.v)

I woke up with Phil beside me, still in the white hospital room. He had the saddest look on his face. "Are you okay?" I asked, sitting up. He shook his head. "What's wrong?" I started to get concerned. "I wish I could've saved you.." He sobbed, I hugged him. Thoughts flew through my head from last night. The doctors whispering while I pretended to sleep, what they said, I had to tell Phil.

"Philly?" I frowned, he nodded. "Yea?"

"Last night, two doctors came
in my room to prepare my medication. They thought I was asleep, so they started talking. I heard one of them say 'He's far too injured, we can't save him.', and the other say 'We're going to have to pull the plug.'. Phil, I'm not going to make it. I'm sorry."

Phil went paler than normal, which I didn't think was possible. "I couldn't have saved you. No matter what timeline.." He mumbled, before I saw more tears fall down his face. I didn't know I was crying until I too felt warm tears flowing. "Please Dan, please don't die." He cried, I hated seeing Phil like this. Where was the happy, positive Phil I knew? The man before me was broken, begging me to tell him it was going to be okay, but I couldn't lie to him. "I can't do anything about this Phil." I choked out, he immediately
pulled me from the hospital bed and gave me a big hug.
"I love you too much to let you go." He whispered, pressing his lips to mine. I slid my tongue into his mouth, I could feel him smiling into the kiss. I was certain now. I loved this man, with all my heart. All of our happiest memories flew through my head as we shared this moment.
