Chapter 8

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been really busy, plus I had writer's block

"Oh man what are we gonna do?" Lucas asked with a worried look "Riley's gonna be here any minute and she's gonna see the cake."

"Don't worry man-" Zay assured with his mouth full of the cake "It's not even your cake."

"Zay stop eating the Miller's cake!"

He then turned to Maya who was licking the frosting and cake off her hand as he gave her a frown as she stopped.

"What I don't understand is where is the actual cake?" Farkle put in.

"Let me call Riles" Lucas offered as he started to call Riley "Hey babe, do you know when the cake is going to get here?... Oh you cancelled it? Why?... Seriously?... Oh so a box of balloons are coming instead?... No uh, a cake didn't come here... okay bye."

"A box of balloons instead?" Maya said dully "Okay that's it, I am not returning this cake."

"Already on it" Zay announced as he continued to eat the cake.

"Wait so why did Riley cancel the cake?" Smackle asked Lucas.

"She said that the bakers weren't able to make more cakes due to some financial issues, I don't know she didn't really say much, so the box of balloons was the next best thing, and it should be here in a few minutes."

"Well in the meantime-" Maya put in "Let's finish this cake before she gets home and the Millers start to ask questions."

So later that day, when Riley had come back, the box had arrived as everyone surrounded it on the coffee table.

"This is it" Riley smiled "We're gonna finally know the gender of our babies."

She then turned to Lucas.

"You excited honey?" she smiled as she squeezed his arm.

"Let's do this" he smiled as he was about to cut the box when there was a knock at the door.

"Oh come on!" Riley groaned as she got up and answered the door to see some little Girl Scouts.

"Hi would you like to buy some Girl Scouts cookies?" they asked with smiles while holding up some cookie boxes.

"You got any Thin Mints?" Maya asked them.

"Sorry we're all out."

"Then no thank you."

"But get some any way" Zay put in "If we're gonna be celebrating, then we're gonna need some cookies."

As Riley started to pay the Girl Scouts, everyone couldn't stop looking at the box as they tried to wait patiently.

"Lucas open it now" Maya ordered.

"No!" everyone shouted as the Girl Scouts jumped in freight.

"Oh sorry" Riley apologized "This is really an intense day for us."

"Why is your stomach so big?" the younger Girl Scouts suddenly asked.

"Annie" the older one hissed.

"No it's okay" Riley assured with a smile as she turned to the little one "The reason my stomach is so huge right now is because I'm about to give birth to not one, but two babies."

"Are they gonna be boy babies or girl?" the little girl asked.

"Well we're about to find out."

"Yeah and I'm not gonna wait any longer" Maya grunted as she turned to Lucas "Lucas-".

"No" he groaned just as Riley finished paying the Girl Scouts as she shut the door.

"Okay I'm ready" she announced while holding boxes of cookies.

"Finally!" Maya exclaimed as she tore open the box as balloons flew out and towards the ceiling.

But what surprised them was that the balloons weren't just one color of either pink or blue, but instead they were both colors.

"Pink and blue?" Smackle said surprised "Then that means..."

"We're having a boy an a girl!" Lucas gasped just as Riley screamed in delight while throwing the cookie boxes into the air.

"Hey don't mess with the cookies!" Zay whined.

"Screw the cookies!" Riley exclaimed with a smile "We're having a boy and a girl!"

And with that everyone got up and cheered as they joined in a group hug.

"Wait hold on-" Maya suddenly spoke up as she turned to Riley "Does that mean you finally know what their names are gonna be?"

"Well not yet-" Riley replied "But now that we know, we'll think it over."

"Oh my God!" Smackle suddenly gasped "You know what this calls for?"

"A trip to Taco Bell?" Riley guessed with interest.

"No, a baby shower!"

At that point Maya gasped.

"I've been waiting to hear those words ever since I found out about Riley's pregnancy" she grinned as she turned to everyone "We gotta throw the best baby shower ever! And I got the best gift ever!"

"Well you guys go ahead with that-" Lucas replied "Riley and I are gonna go pick out the names now."

"And we're not telling you guys until the day comes" Riley added with a smirk as they all groaned.

"No worries-" Maya assured "We'll be busy planning the baby shower. Which reminds me-".

"No, you will not get Beyonce to play at our baby shower" Riley cut in as Maya gave a sigh "Look, I just want a simple baby shower, not too much okay?"

"Okay" everyone sighed.

And with that Riley and Lucas went into their room as Zay began to snack on the Girl Scouts cookies.

"The cookies are okay" he announced in relief.

"Alright people-" Maya spoke up "Riley says that she wants a simple baby shower, so we'll give her a simple baby shower."

"The way that you say it is making me worried" Farkle said with a nervous look.

"Yeah should we be worried?" Josh asked with a concerned look.

"Guys-" Maya groaned "Relax, I'm not planning on doing anything stupid."

"Okay" everyone replied with doubt.

"Hey!" she exclaimed offended "I'll prove it to you guys, this baby shower is gonna be simple and great, trust me on that."

Just then Riley came out from her room and took a box of cookies from Zay who was still munching on them.

"Forgot these" she told everyone as she went back into her room.

"I wasn't done with those!" Zay called.
