Lost Souls (Sans x Reader)

Chapter 14

You all headed out for the town. Sans held your hand as you all left the building for the last time. You looked back at it. You'd called it home, but now Sans had offered you his own. Cherry and Mystery were going to stay with Toriel and Asgore. You felt fear rising inside as it disappeared from your line of sight.  You sighed. Sans looked over at you.

"you okay?" He asked.

"I've never really left that place. I just don't know if they'll accept me so easily." You said. Sans kissed your cheek.

"it's alright. they will forgive you. you'll be okay doll." He told you. You smiled and nodded. Sans smiled back. Then Cherry spoke up. 

"Hey (Y/N) do you still sing?" She asked. You swallowed.

"N-no I don't. I'm afraid to try that again." You admitted.

"You should try it again some time. Maybe we can dance to it while you sing!" Cherry said. You smiled nervously.

"Heh, heh, yeah...." You said very nervous. You were terrified of meeting new people, singing just made it worse. You couldn't sing. You were scared of failing, especially when it was people you didn't know. They'd all expect the best and get something below their expectations. You were horrified of failing even more then meeting new people and being rejected. You could just see their faces filled with hate and disgust. You started to wonder if they would attack you or not. You wouldn't stand a chance against them all together. Sans soon noticed your silence.

"you nervous?" He asked. You looked at him breaking from your thoughts.

"Yes." You said sadly. He hugged you.

"i'll be right there to help if anything goes bad doll. trust me." He soothed. You smiled.

"I do trust you. I just don't trust them." You said. He sighed. 

"i get that, but they really aren't the type that hold grudges." He said. You nodded. 

Soon you were out of the forest and heading to Toriel's. Mystery spotted you and she ran up to you. She must've been looking for Papyrus and Cherry. She happily hugged them and lead them back to Toriel's with you following close behind. Once you got there Papyrus and Cherry were instantly greeted by Frisk. She ran in yelling for Asgore and Toriel to come. Sans followed Papyrus, Mystery, and Cherry in with you right behind. No joke. You were hiding behind him. Once Frisk came back she saw Sans. She instantly ran up and hugged him. You stepped away from him fearful of her, Asgore and Toriel.

"Papyrus! Sans! You're okay!" Frisk exclaimed happily.

"yeah, we're fine kiddo." He said to her. Toriel and Asgore looked relieved that he was alright. Then they spotted you. You grew nervous. Asgore and Toriel looked slightly nervous of you as well. Frisk looked shocked to see you. Sans noticed and stood next to you. "she's not bad." He said. They looked uncomfortable, but nodded, trusting Sans' judgement. "she needs some rest so i'm going to take her back to my place." Sans said. 

"SINCE THERE ISN'T MUCH ROOM THERE CHERRY AND I WILL STAY HERE FOR AWHILE IF THAT'S OK?" Papyrus said. Toriel and Asgore nodded. Sans smiled relieved and teleported you to his house. He lead you to his room and told you to get some rest. You nodded and went to sleep.

Sans' POV

Sans was glad to be back home, but he still had his worries. Undyne wouldn't be happy about this and Sans knew she'd attack (Y/N). (Y/N)'s mental state was bad enough as is, but add Undyne? Sans didn't want to think about what might happen. He'd have to talk to Undyne before she found out about her. Sans sighed and laid down on the couch. He just stayed there thinking. Eventually sleep got the better of him and he dozed off. 

Sans woke up later that night to some singing not far away. He got up and followed the sound. It was coming from his bedroom. Sans listened. He couldn't hear clearly through the door. He opened it a crack and looked in. (Y/N) was sitting on his bed looking out his bedroom window. She was singing quietly, but her voice was amazing. 

(Listen while reading. By the way it's either I'm crazy or every time they say 'away', it's an error and it's supposed to be 'I'll wait'. I mean seriously it's sounds like 'I'll wait' if you listen closely.)

"Little do you know how I'm breaking while you fall asleep. Little do you know I'm still haunted by the memories. Little do you know I'm trying to pick myself up, piece by piece. Little do you know I...need a little more time.... Underneath it all, I'm held captive by the hole inside. I've been holding back for the feel that you might change your mind. I'm ready to forgive you, but forgetting is a harder fight. Little do you know I...need a little more time...." Sans smiled and walked in he was afraid to at first, but he sang with her. 

(I don't know if it's away or I'll wait so I'm gonna do away just so that way it's still going with the video.)

"away, away. i love you like i've never felt the pain, away. i promise you don't have to be afraid, away. the love is here and here to stay so lay your head on me. little do you know i know your hurt, while i'm sound asleep. little do you know all my mistakes are slowly drowning me. Little do you know i'm trying to make it better, piece by piece. little do you know i...i love you till the sun dies." She smiled at him and they sang together.

Sans hugged her and she hugged him back. 

"Thanks Sans." She said.

"you don't have to thank me. it's fine. you have a really beautiful voice by the way." He told her. She blushed.

"Thanks." She said. Sans smiled. Then he thought of something. 

"why were ya up doll?" He asked. She sighed.

"Nightmare again." She said. Sans frowned.

"what was it this time?" He asked.

"Undyne." She replied. Sans sighed.

"i know you don't trust her, but i promised i wouldn't let anyone hurt you remember?" She nodded. "then leave it to my doll. i'll make sure she's alright with this ok?" Sans asked. She nodded again. Sans smiled softly at her. "come here." He said pulling her in close. She looked up at him surprised. Sans smiled. "mind a kiss doll?" He asked. She smiled. Sans took that as a yes. He kissed her and they both stayed there wrapped tight in each others embrace while sharing a loving kiss. Soon it ended and Sans laid her down and tucked her back in. He took off his hoodie and laid down with her. She smiled and yawned. Sans chuckled. "night doll." 

"Goodnight Sans." She said and curled up in his arms to sleep.
