Silence fills their newly found wheels.
Victor remains in the trunk.
Victor: "They'll be looking for this car too."
Jessika: "You killed the owner and we took her information as well as the paper work on the car. I didn't see a wedding band so even if they do figure it out, we have some time."
Victor: "I'm sorry."
Jessika: "For what?"
Victor: "Making things worse for you."
Jessika: "Same here, although, you did walk into my life and save it."
Victor: "I didn't ask for this."
Jessika: "Neither did I."
Victor: "Forgive me?"
Jessika: "As long as you forgive me."
Victor: "I do."
Jessika nods with a smile.
Victor: "There are two ways this is going."
Jessika: "Jail or Hell."
Victor: "Exactly."
Jessika: "I choose Hell."
Victor: "Maybe I'll see you around."
They both chuckle. She looks in the rear view and doesn't see Victor's reflection.
Jessika: "Your reflection isn't visible anymore."
Victor: "I saw that."
Jessika: "You are a full blown vampire then."
Victor: "I don't want to hurt you."
Jessika: "It's like having a lion or tiger as a pet. You keep them fed well; they won't attack you...hopefully."
Victor, sarcasm: "Yes, definitely like that."
Unbeknownst to them, the entire state was looking for them. Some brave patron at the diner was able to snap a few pictures of them on his phone. Their faces were all over the news.
It is night. Jessika has driven into the middle of a deserted area about 2 miles from the road. Nobody driving by can see them.
Jessika is eating her cold chicken fried steak.
Jessika: "Cold or not, this is the best meal I have had in ages."
Victor: "You believe in Heaven?"
Jessika: "Huh?"
Victor: "You believe in Hell so you have to believe in Heaven."
Jessika: "True, yes."
Victor: "I never did until my sister died. I was hoping she was in a place that I could be even for a minute just to tell her I am sorry and that I love her."
Jessika: "You are ruining the best meal I have had in ages."
Victor, ignoring: "I fear if there is a Heaven that I won't make it there...and I'll never see her again."
Jessika: "I see. Well I don't know what to tell you but...you can't blame yourself."
Victor: "I just want to sleep."
Jessika looks back as he turns to face away from her.
Jessika: "It'll be ok, Victor."
He doesn't respond.
