Four Armies (An Eddsworld AU fanfic)

Chapter 4: It takes two to make a team

   Location: Green Army Base

   Edd's Pov:
     I sit up and yawn, allowing the morning light to hit my face threw the shades of my window. Although you might think of non-government run military bases to be hidden away and away from, well... beautiful sunlight, our base was not. This is because the government has not bothered us about having this so called Green Army. This is probably because we don't seem to be hurting anyone, or planning anything stupid.
     I click my tongue, remembering that I still haven't turned off that annoying sound of my morning alarm. I click a button, and sure enough, the sound dies down.
     I smile slightly, and slowly stand up, stretching a bit. I make my way over to my closet, and grab my typical outfit. This consists of a green tank top, a brown sash, tan pants and brown military boots. I also had a green military helmet, but today was special.
     Wait a moment... today was special!! That handsome Purple Army leader was going to come over and sign a treaty with me!! I quickly shoved the outfit back into my closet, and dig into the way back of it, searching for one of two of my green suits.
     I eventually smile in victory, pulling out a grass green suit that that came with a dark green bow tie. There were also many different little things on the suit with the darker green color, but it doesn't really matter. It was green, my favorite color, and that's what matters.
     I smile slightly, and quickly dress myself, slipping the pants on last and looking at myself in the mirror. I look at my messy hair, and giggle, running into the bathroom to fix it up a little bit.
     I grab some hair gel, hair spray, and a comb, then proceeding to work my magic. After around five minutes, I finish and stare at myself threw the bathroom mirror. It was my usual slightly messy brown hair, which matched the color my eyes, and the sash that I normally wore.
     I run back out into my room, and resume what I was going before in the mirror. I give myself gun fingers and giggle a bit. "Lookin' good!"
     After a small moment of making sure I looked presentable, I run out my room, and run towards the cafeteria, feeling my mouth water a bit with hunger.
     "Good morning Green leader sir!" One of my soldiers salute me as I run by. I smile slightly at him, yet keep running. I already knew what I wanted for breakfast, today being a special day. 
     I slow myself down at the cafeteria door, and open it, stepping inside and getting a large whiff on the delicious smelling breakfast that the chefs seemed to cook up.
     My mouth waters a bit more, as I step inside the kitchen. "Mm it smells so good..." I point out as all the delicious smells hit my nose.
     "On why hello Green Leader sir!" One of the chefs step out with a plate.
     I smile and stare down at the breakfast buffet that had been made, as I grab the white plate. The chef chuckles a bit, and watches as I for the most part grab bacon. I also grab two pancakes, and a small bowl of fruit salad, but the bacon was the only part that matters.
     "What would you like to drink sir?"
     "Cola!" I smile, and put the last piece of bacon on my plate. The chef chuckles a bit, and grabs me a can of Cola.
     "Here you go sir!" I grab it and smile at them.
     "Thank you very much!"
     "You're welcome sir! Just doing my job!" I snort a bit, and go to find a table to sit at.
     Eventually, I find a table with one of my soldiers sitting there, alone. I chose to sit there, placing my tray down. "Oh hey Jacob!"
     "Good morning green leader sir! I've been waiting for you!" The smile up at me.
      I quickly sit down, and giggle a bit, grabbing a piece of bacon.
     "Are you excited for today?" Asks Jacob. "You do seem very well dressed, I must say it really... SUITS the occasion."
     I burst into laughter at the pun my solider made. "Good one! And of course I'm excited!! With Matt as our new partner, who knows what we will accomplish!" I take a quick sip of my Cola, and let out a breath of  flavor. Instead of drinking coffee, I drink Cola to get my morning boost, as it does contain caffeine.
     "Yeah you're right Green Leader sir!!" I smile at him, and begin to finish my breakfast as quickly as possible.

     Around five minutes later, I eat my last strawberry, and run out of the cafeteria with a quick goodbye to Jacob.
     I run into the stall bathroom that we had, and look in the mirror to see if I got any crumbs on myself. Sure enough, there were a few around my mouth, but none had gotten on my suit thankfully. I grab a paper towel, and run it under the sink, getting it damp then squeezing it out so that there wasn't to much water. I then proceed to wipe away all the crumbs, and throw the towel in the trash can once done.
     I run out the bathroom, and into our assembly room to see if they had been getting it ready for today. I smile at the sight I see, there were streamers hung from the ceiling and right above the stage, was a banner that said 'Purple and Green's treaty signing'. There was also a table loaded with food and drinks, covered in a plastic wraps so no pesky bugs would try to invade them.
     "Hello Green Leader!" I whip my head around, and see that one of my soldiers was standing behind me.
     "Oh why hello Sage!" I smile at her, which she returns.
     "Like what I did with the place?" She giggles a bit. I nod in response.
     "It's, it's amazing!! It's so perfect!! I'm sure our guests will love it!!"
     "I sure hope so. We've been working on it since yesterday afternoon, I gotta tell you this team we assembled to decorate this place, will not listen, like, at all!" She groans a bit. I giggle and shrug.
     "Well you know, we are a secret military it's not like we can just hire a real decorative team!" She sighs yet nods in agreement.
     "You're right sir."
     "Yeah I suppose so!" I look at the clock impatiently. I was just to excited, I couldn't wait! Hold on a moment... I have an idea!!
     "Hey, I have to make a call, see you later though!" I smile slightly, taking out my phone.
    "Oh okay! Umm, bye Green Leader!" She salutes and stares at me curiously.
      I smile. "Okay what was his number... what was his... oh wait. I have him as a contact." I mentally smack myself, and go to contact's, clicking on one of them from the 'favorites' section. I then proceed to put the phone to my ear, and take a deep breath. I always got slightly nervous before talking to Matt, I'm not sure if that's normal, as I am indeed a military leader...
     One ring, two ring, three ri-
     "Hello?" Came a voice from the other side.
     "Hey Matt!! It's me, Edd!!" I giggle a bit.
      "Oh! Hello Edd!!" He giggles back on the other line.
     "Watcha doin'?" I smile, curling some of my brown hair into my finger.
     "Well, two of my soldiers and I are in the car, driving over to a little someone's base for something very special tonight~." I felt my cheeks turn slightly pink at the tone of his voice.
     "O-oh well th-that's great!" I stutter out, failing to hide my flustered mess.
      "Have you all been preparing for my visit?" He asks happily.
     "Yeah!! Sure have!! In fact, I'm in the room where the treaty-signing will be held right now!!" I giggle, nodding to myself.
     "Oh that's cool!! I can assure you I am very excited!!"
     "How much is very~?" I try to mock the flirty voice he used on me earlier.
      "O-oh well y-y'know like, s-so excited I can't stop fidgeting." He laughs awkwardly on the other line. I silently snicker to myself, admiring that I made him like so.
     "Well, I can't wait to see you! Two more hours right?"
     "Oh. I forgot to tell you I enjoy being early. I'll be there in like another half an hour." I gasp at this. He was going to be here even earlier!! This was so exciting!!
     "Well alright, see you then Matt!! Goodbye!!"
     "Au revoir!" Matt giggles on the other line and with that, we hang up. I sigh dreamily, not able to wait to see his beautiful face in person. Purple leader was just so... so perfect in so many ways.
