A Weird Friendship (Scout x Siren!Reader)
Scout's POV
Ya know people,when I saw an ad on a newspaper that was thrown infront of my doorway and it said 'help wanted!' I thought the job would be promising
And maybe calm..But hey hey! This job ain't that bad! I mean,free food and rent is great! Plus beating the crap outa people is fun for a job! At least its something fun and not as boring as hell like the people who work at banks
Man that makes me wanna sleep just by thinking of it!
I did miss ma tho,before I left my dick of brothers didn't really come out of they're way to help her. I just hope to be home as fast as possible
Today was Sunday,battle just ended a few hours ago which I didn't bother to count,I was just taking a stroll around the place (the map is Gorge btw) until I found a small lake. I sat on a rock and thought for a bit

I thought things like I dunno,the existence of ghosts,aliens,the RED frikin Spy that knocked up ma
My thoughts simply ran wild,no limits at all. I just can't be bothered right now because a hard days work always deserves a break
Author's POV
Jeremy was too deep in thought to notice a beautiful figure staring at him. Her skin was fair and smooth,(e/c) eyes shone with curiosity and wonder while her hair was beautifully framed her head with some strands loose and out of place,making her seem more stunning. But instead of legs,she had a fish tail that shimmer that had a shade of (f/c)
This she was simply a girl,a girl who goes by (Y/n). She was always wondering things about the land while she stayed underwater. But the thing shes most curious about him. Thoughts lingered around her head like
'What is he?' 'Does he know me?' 'Whats his name?'
(Y/n) wanted answers to those answers but she were just to afraid to show herself. What if he tries to kill me? What if he finds out and sends me off to end up like sushi? (Y/n) thought with fear as she shivered under the warm water
"Maybe I can confront him tomorrow..if he comes back..."
So she stayed in her little home in the lake and waited for night to come and lure people to sleep and bring children back in they're homes
~time skip to morning~
"WAKE UP MAGGOTS! GET YOUR ASSES UP THEN DROP AND GIVE ME 30 WHEN YOUR ALL OUT!!" Soldier boomed
It startled everyone awake and mad about his sudden outburst
Jeremy rubbed the sleep from his eyes and rolled them,he got up from his bed and slowly got up to take a shower
Warm water ran down his back while he rinsed his hair from shampoo. And sometimes got in his eyes most of the time which in return he let out some curses
When Jeremy was done from showering. He wore his everyday clothes and went to the kitchen where all the other mercs were
Jeremy grabbed a seat and began to eat his pancakes quickly,the sweet taste of the syrup and soft breakfast instantly woke him up. It was like Bonk! But more suitable for eating in the morning
After everyone was done they all headed to the rec room and got ready to start running and shooting while Sniper was already at his tower
The announcer's voice boomed through the speaker "mission begins in 30 seconds" (am I even right with that line?)
After 30 seconds. Both teams clashed and blood was spilled everywhere. Screams of agony was heard miles away through the sound of guns being fired and explosions
In 10 minutes flat some members on both teams were sent through respawn
The battle was a long one but it was worth it for the victory
~time skip~
The mercs walked back in the base,sweating and smiles on they're faces. They captured the enemy's intelligence and thats all that matters
Everyone were so full of pride for they're win that they didn't notice the Boston sneaking out
Jeremy walked around,indulging in the scenery around him. Tall trees stood out like electricity lines while birds chirped they're song. He froze as he soaked in what hed seeing..It was more stunning than nature,it was like God's greatest creation
She paced(swam) back and forth,trying to muster out the right words to say. Nervousness evident in her (e/c) eyes while she muttered words to herself
Jeremy decided to say something before it got awkward "what da hell?" Ok not very good choice of words but its a start?
(Y/n) jumped and turned around. She dove back in the water,afraid
As much as she admired him,she feared him. It wasn't like she didn't hear the sound of guns shooting
"Hey! Where did ya go?" Jeremy said aloud
(Y/n) stayed silent and didn't move,as if he can pick up the currents and movement of the water,not really but he could see the water shift
"I'm sorry ok? I didn't mean to scare ya toots.." Jeremy said,a bit confused.
She sighed and slowly swam up to the surface "hello..." she started,blushing furiously
Jeremy smiled a bit and sat on the rock he sits on everyday "so uh,whats ya name toots?" He asked
"(Y/n),its (Y/n)" she replied with a bit less awkwardness
"Nice ta meet ya (Y/n) my name is Scout,but you could call me Jeremy!" The Bostonian grinned like he just introduced himself infront of a celebrity
"Hey" was all (Y/n) could really say. Who would practice conversation skills when your alone and basically a half fish? It seemed more logical
"So ya come ere often?" Jeremy asked,tilting his head in curiosity with a little smile to make things less tense
"Jeremy..I'm a fish person" she objected
It was a long silence,a bit uncomfortable but still bearable for (Y/n) to not dive back in the water
"Um,sorry?"Jeremy apologized and stared. She also stared back,not really knowing what to do.
You decided to break the ice by pulling Jeremy in the water
He swam back up and took a deep breath,trying to calm down. She simply smiled and tried to keep herself from exploding with laughter,but trying not to smile is a job on its own
Jeremy shivered and glared at you. His blue eyes staring at hers intensely. And with that (Y
) started laughing so hard she sank down in the lake,bubbles floating to the surface. Jeremy rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit
He might as well get buckled up for the ride cause with a friend like (Y/n) it was gonna be a weird one
