A Strange Love

Chapter 4 - Picnic

Once Dipper had collected the things he promised to bring, he headed out to the designated spot in the forest. It was a pretty good day for a picnic, as the sun was just hot enough to be warm, but not too overheating.

Quickly, he checked his basket to make sure he had everything. There were 4 cans of Pit Cola, watermelon slices, a bag of cherries, some grapes, a small stack of paper plates, and a box of plastic silverware. "Perfect."

Knowing very well that he was early, he sat down on a rock to wait, zoning out into his own thoughts.

"Hello," said William, pulling Dipper back to reality.

"Hi, William!" Dipper smiled when he saw him approach.

William pulled out a blanket and spread it out on the ground, along with sandwiches and chocolate cupcakes, and Dipper placed out everything he had brought.

They each took a sandwich and sat down. "So, anyway, what kind of things do you like?" Dipper asked, taking a bit of his food.

"Well, I enjoy art and making deals.." William says, and then his eyes widen, unnoticed to Dipper, whose eyes were on the Pit Cola that he was opening. "Like gambling and such." He adds in quickly.

"Oh. Sounds like my Grunkle." Dipper says, taking a sip of his drink. "So you're into art?"

"Yeah, I like to make sculptures and such. And my favorite color to paint with is red. And what about you?"

Dipper nods in response, "I like to solve the mysteries of Gravity Falls with my sister Mabel."

"Oh that's neat," William remarked, as they both finished their sandwiches. He grabbed the fruit and began to eat a few cherries, and Dipper grabbed a piece of watermelon.

A long while of talking and eating later, William said, "Do you want a cupcake?"

"Yeah sure," Dipper said, eyeing them as William opens the container.

William handed Dipper a chocolate cupcake with a little purple candy flower on top and took another for himself.

"These are really good," said Dipper, taking a bite.

"I don't know.. I think mine might be better," smirked William, looking up at Dipper.

"What do you mean?" Dipper asked, taking another bite of his own cupcake.

William shrugged. "I dunno.. wanna taste?"

"Wha-" before Dipper could respond, William leaned forward and kissed his lips. Blushing profusely, Dipper returned his kiss.

As they pulled away, William smirked again and then finished off the cupcake as if nothing had happened. Still blushing, Dipper finished his too, and then unconsciously eyed William, who raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

Shyly, Dipper kissed William, and once again they locked lips. They wrapped their arms around each other and deepened the kiss. After a few long seconds of passionately kissing, William pulled away and looked at Dipper.

"You're adorable," William said smiling slightly.

"You're handsome," replied Dipper with a sigh. "Oh wait! what time is it?"

"I'd guess one thirty. Why?"

"I promised Ford I'd help him with something now but... I guess he can wait until two," smirked Dipper.

"Alright," William said quietly, kissing Dipper one more time.

A half hour of kissing and talking had gone by, and holding hands, Dipper and William had walked to the edge of the forest together.

"Here's the Shack," Dipper said. "I'd better go help Ford."

"Alright, I'll head home then. Can we meet where we were in 2 days? 3 o'clock maybe?"

"Sounds good."

"See you then," William said, kissing Dipper on the cheek before heading off into the woods.

Dipper made his way into the Shack, only to be tackled by Mabel. "How did it go? Is he amazing?" She seemed to think for a second, and widening her eyes she whispered, "Did you make out?"

"Shh, Mable!" Dipper shushed her, then spoke softly, "Yes, and yes."

Mable squealed, ignoring her brother's hush, "Yay bro-bro!" She jumped up and down.

Dipper rolled his eyes, "Alright, I got to go help Ford, I'll see you later," And with that, he walked off.
