Harriet's POV
I'm sitting at home on my couch, my best friend Natalia hugging me tightly as I sobbed.
"Why did he leave Natalia, I can't help it I can't give him a child but he just left" I sobbed even more thinking of what had happened. Suddenly a small knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts. I muttered under my breath going to the door silently opening it.
"Oh my goodness" I said small tears dripping down my cheeks as I looked down to see four small baskets in front of the door, a small note attached to each one.
"What is it?" Natalia asked coming to stand beside me. Her eyes widened as she looked at the baskets.
"Well, let's bring them inside, before something finds them" she quickly said grabbing a basket in each hand. I quickly followed suit and in twenty seconds the baskets were inside.
"Look, there's notes attached to them." I said pointing to the pieces of paper. I grabbed one to start reading aloud.
"Dear, whoever finds this child,
Take good care of him. His name is John, you may change it but I've no money to care for him. I left a twenty dollar bill in his basket to go towards caring for him. Please don't drop him somewhere. From, anonymous." I read as Natalia searched for the twenty dollar bill. She read the rest of the notes and they said the exact same things with different names.
"Alright so the kids names are Marquis de Lafayette, John, Alexander, and Hercules. There is eighty dollars in total" she said dropping the notes on the kitchen table sighing.
"I'm keeping them. I just need to get them registered and some adoption papers." I stood up walking to the door.
"You can't be serious."
"And what if I am."
"You can't keep those kids."
"And why not"
"Because you are only eighteen. You have endless opportunities."
"I will not let those kids die. And that's final" I stated walking towards the door.
"If anything happens, call my cellphone." I said shutting the door quietly but angrily.

When I had gotten to the agency I gave the names of the kids to the person and he gave me the papers to sign.
"When your finished filling out those papers give them to me and tomorrow I will send someone to make sure the house is safe, then you can keep them." He said
"Ok" I walked back to my seat filling out the work papers. When I was done I rushed to the desk and I walked out after handing him the sheets.

I finally got home in the middle of the night and finished cleaning the house.
"Hopefully this will meet their standards." I muttered calling my job.
"Hey, Adrian, um, I am adopting a few kids and won't be able to come in to work"
"It's ok Bella, bye"
"Bye" I hung up and someone knocked at the door. I called for them to come in and the worker introduced herself as Danielle. She looked around the house for an hour and told me the children would be adopted by me and I cried out of joy.
"Thank you so much!" I said tears going down my face. She said her goodbyes and left.
