•38 more days of hell left. (*school*)
I apologize, this chapter is short. But the other chapters are a bit longer.
It's hard writing a lot with school going on. Summer will be easier. Aaannyyywho. Chapter 2.•
As morning rolled around I found myself sitting in the same position in bed. I had been awake all night. Her phone was one thing that was missing. I called. Texted. But there was no answer. It was only 8:00 but I went to the bathroom and splashed my face with cold water. My eyes were bloodshot and I was exhausted. I opened the door and went downstairs.
"Hey. You okay?" Carlos asked as I laid down on the couch.
"Sure." I replied hinting the sarcasm in my voice.
"We're gonna find her. Want some breakfast?"
"Not hungry."
"Okay..."
I shut my eyes but couldn't seem to fall asleep. I kept seeing Brooke. I kept hoping that she would walk in the door. But she didn't. She won't. Whatever happened to her..isn't in her control. I immediately set up once I heard the phone begin ringing. I ran to it and answered.
"Hello. Mr. Maslow?" A voice asked.
"Yes, this is him." I said.
"Good morning sir. This is the parametrics. We ran the tests and got results."
"Great. What was it?"
"The blood, unfortunately, was hers."
Of course...it wouldn't be my life if this didn't turn out bad. Why wouldn't it be hers? I put my head in my hands.
"Is there any good news in this situation?" I ask miserably.
"Well. If anymore blood is found around the area or in un-normal areas..we can easily track down to see if she was there."
"Thank you."
I hung up the phone and went back to the living room. I plopped on the couch and stared at the wall.
"Was that the paramedic?" Brian asked as him and the rest of the crew gathered around. All I could do was nod. I got up and went to our..my room. I heard everyone call my name but I only shut the door and locked it. I closed the blinds and slowly climbed back into bed. I laid in bed letting tears roll down my cheeks. I thought the day after the wedding was supposed to be fantastic, but I guess that's too much to ask for my life.
After about half an hour I heard Logan, Kendall, and Carlos knock on the door. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. I heard them shuffle the key around in the lock and finally it latched open. They walked in and quieted when they saw I was "asleep".
"Someone's gotta do something." Carlos said quietly.
"What? The police never do anything! They aren't gonna care!" Kendall replied.
"Are you suggesting we are supposed to find her? There's no possible way!" Carlos said again.
"It's either that or we can leave her wherever she is." Logan said.
I heard them silently leave the room and close the door behind them. I sat up in bed and ran to the door. I locked it once again. I quickly threw some pillows under the blankets, making it look like I was still under there. I grabbed my phone, charger, headphones, and a jacket. I quietly opened the window and climbed out onto the roof. I slowly crawled down it, being careful not to slip. At this point, I wouldn't really care. I finally planted my feet firmly on the ground and took off down the street, not looking back. I wasn't coming back here until I found her. And if I never found her. I'd be meeting her in the sun.
